What the hell is it with Utah Jazz fans?

I feel like every year we get multiple stories like this out of Salt Lake City, stories that seem to be otherwise fairly uncommon occurrences elsewhere.

For reference...
When it comes to racially abusive fans, the NBA has a Utah problem

The three fans banned indefinitely by the Utah Jazz made vulgar and racist comments to Ja Morant's parents

"I know heckling," Tee Morant said in a phone interview with ESPN on Thursday night. "We were doing that the whole game. But that's different than heckling. That's straight up disrespectful. That was too far out of line. You don't say nothing like that heckling. That's beyond heckling."
quote:
According to Tee Morant, another Jazz fan told him, "I'll put a nickel in your back and watch you dance, boy." Several other Jazz fans, who had been enjoying good-spirited trash talk with the Morants and their family friends, confronted that fan and alerted security. Tee Morant said he was shocked that the Jazz fan, who was ejected, made such a comment with the man's young daughter by his side. The third fan who was ejected yelled at Jamie Morant, "Shut the f--- up, b----," Tee Morant said.
Here you go OP

You got to watch out for those Mormons!

If you dislike the Jazz and their fans Vernon Maxwell is a must follow on Twitter. Half his tweets are talking shite about the Jazz and their fans, it’s great

In their defense, Salt Lake City is <50% Mormon as of last year
And I’m pretty sure they overturned all their quirky drinking/social laws in the last decade or so. It’s a pretty normal city last time I was there.

Why do his parents come to games in Utah?
Posted on 5/27/21 at 9:01 pm to WestCoastAg
There’s always several in his replies all mad. It’s fantastic. He had some wars with the Jazz when he was on the Rockets
Posted on 5/27/21 at 9:01 pm to ShaneTheLegLechler
Too bad Vernon punched a Blazers fan instead of a Jazz fan during his last yr with the Rockets.

Does this count as play stupid games, win stupid prizes?
Also, are "boy" and "bitch" the words in question here?
Posted on 5/27/21 at 9:06 pm to mattz1122
He actually posted the other day that the fan he punched made a comment about his stillborn daughter. I’m not sure he had ever said what caused him to do it before, if he had I had never seen it

What was said that was racist?

I think fans really missed the NBA, so much so that they're going absolutely wild once they're finally allowed back in the arenas.
I mean you also had a guy who supposedly spit on Trey Young, as well as the guy who threw popcorn on Westbrook.

Is it racist because he called him 'boy'?
Seems pretty mild

I'll just come out and on behalf of the board ask for an explanation on what the hell that sentence is supposed to me?
I say and have heard a lot of hillbilly redneck bullshite but I've never heard that one.

Sorry guys. When everything is racist, actual racism matters less.
