11 years ago today he hit #756. What is your opinion of him in regards to the history of baseball?

I personally think he’s a top 10 player of all time and I think he should be in the hall of fame.

Sidebar: do you think anyone will ever break the 73 record or the all time record?

ETA: he did steroids in the era that everyone was doing steroids and he was better than the rest. You can say what you want but it was an unclean decade of baseball. That still happened.

He's the best hitter of all time, which means he should have been a first ballot Hall of Famer.

Idiot that would've been 1st ballot HOF without steroids.

One of the best hitters ever in a tainted era of baseball. Steroids made the balls he hit go farther.

A tremendous ballplayer who let jealousy and envy go to his head. The man was insanely pissed off at the coverage Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa received during the 1998 season. In retaliation, he decided to start juicing to show the baseball world how superior he was to them as a power hitter.

He'd be in the Hall of Fame right now had he not made that decision.

Greatest hitter that Ive seen in my lifetime. Steroids or not, he was a better hitter than everyone else that did steroids.

Best player I've ever seen. I was at game 2 of the WS back in 02. I still remember that bomb in the 9th inning. It was unreal.

This is it for me. It was a level playing field in those days because pretty much everyone was on the juice.

Bonds was just better. He seems like a pretty dislikeable person by all accounts, which probably is why he gets penalized more harshly for juicing than guys like McGwire, etc.

First-ballot HOFer, one of the most dominant sluggers of all-time, and, next to McGwire/Sosa and the Sandlot, a big reason I became remotely interested in baseball
