Something philosophically about the team is off. Maybe it's nothing more than what others have said, this roster was built for KD and Westbrook, not for only one or the other.

What I'm saying is this idea that one guy needs to go beserk to have a chance is not a viable strategy, so why go with it in the first place? To win some games in the short term and get bounced in the first round? This team is going nowhere unless it becomes a team operation.

This never should've been the year of the Russell Westbrook triple double, because him doing that can get you to the playoffs. They had no business being in the playoffs. It should've been a season to determine what pieces of the team can be included as viable components of a contender. The pieces that can't need to be dealt away. This should've been a rebuild year.

They didn't trade Harden. They wouldn't pony up the dough to pay him. They also wouldn't commit to him being in the starting lineup, but relegated to a 6th man still.

I remember the whole deal going down. He was offered a LOT of money by OKC, but Houston offered 80 million to the 50 by OKC.

Harden all but said it was about the money and had OKC paid equal he would have stayed (at least insinuated as much).

I also am sure there is more to it than just money, for sure. There always is more to everything we hear or see.

As for Ibaka and Durant?? Dang, they couldn't keep either.

The fact remains that they failed to keep their core group together (unlike the Spurs and now Golden State). It truly is tragic all the way around. I was all on the OKC pain train back when they made the finals against the Heat. They were young, fun to watch, and a bright future it seemed.

Now they are going to be trash money till the day basketball is dead.

Good one.

You're talking about the guy who ranked dead last during the season in contested 3s for players who play more than 30mpg?

He had less contested 3s than Rudy gobert and deandre Jordan. Pretty sad actually.

They definitely traded Harden. Harden and OKC couldn't agree on an extension so they traded him and got Kevin Martin and Jeremy Lamb and some picks in return. One of the picks I think turned in to Adams?

It was technically a trade, but it was first and foremost because OKC and Harden couldn't come to terms with an extension. That is why he was traded. They didn't find it worth matching the 80 million that Houston granted.

Fail on OKC's part.

Don't care. OKC stole the Sonics so watching them lose is still beautiful to me and always will be. frick Clay Bennet... His tears are delicious.

If this is true, then Westbrook or Donovan truly are shitty. Kanter is a legitimate scoring threat downlow and never did shite this series. They never even attempted any low-post play except for Westbrook (of course).

What a shite show OKC was and is. Houston looked like shite too at the end.

is a huge liability defensively. Adams is the better big. vs houston playing both at the same time is a bad idea.

quote:

Gibson, Oladipo

that's why they played a lot. all in all they're still limited players.

quote:

Sabonis, Abrines

so freaking raw. sub 40% shooters for the year.

quote:

Mcdermott

good shooter, defensive liability. Still think he should have played more than Roberson.

You're right.

But he's also so atrocious on defense that his coach stated during a game "can't play Kanter"

Agreed. Westbrook is a better defender, but neither are very good.
