What is the real reason ULL not in Conf. USA?

Their name is known nationwide and they have more ESPN respect.
There must be sonething else. Bet more people in other areas know them then other schools.

their "Louisiana" is on the same wavelength as "Ohio" in that it doesn't represent the whole state

Because LSU is mean and holding ULL down because they're scared if left unchecked ULL would become THE University of Louisiana.

Our improvements (both competitively and facilty wise) lagged behind the last rounds of conference expansion. We weren't an attractive option back then. We're in a better place to move someplace else (ideally CUSA or totally pipe dreaming American) but nobody is looking right now. The sunbelt blows dicks but that's where were stuck for the time being.

I honestly dont even know what conference ULL is in. I would guess that their football stadium is too small to be in even a legit mid major conference - isn't there like a 35,000 seat minimum?

Because they don't have a market and their football program isn't near good enough to overcome that. Nor are they a high research or academic school.
They certainly could have been selected instead of W Ky, but they weren't.
They could have been selected instead of La Tech, but La Tech had been in a conference with a lot of C-USA teams, which helped a lot (C-USA trusted Tech; the academic schools trusted Tech).
Otherwise, C-USA is a market conference (USM, ECU, Marshall, all small markets added a decade or more before, played outstanding football for years when added).
