They should've been in the ACC when they were expanding years ago.

The Big 12 is a horrible fit for them and I don't see that having staying power. It looks like the Big 12 has expansion goals to the west, which would further isolate them.

They are in a weird spot.

They belong in the ACC with Pitt. Big 10 f$&ked up taking Rutgers and Maryland over WV and Pitt

I'm sure Penn State blocked Pitt.

They have more potential as an athletic department and fanbase than half the ACC and several Big 10 and SEC members.

The got screwed last expansion go-round, landed in a decent spot, but it just feels like that won't last.

WVU is a very poor academic and cultural fit for the ACC. Louisville has been a big stretch.

This is over-rated. Most schools in conferences have nothing in common.

What do Washington State and Stanford or Cal have in common?

Iowa State and Texas?

Ole Miss and Vanderbilt?

It's a bullshite talking point.

It might be overrated generally, but it’s not like West Virginia presents some lucrative market to tap into. There just isn’t much to gain. UVA, UNC, Duke, etc. don’t need the fractional increase in TV revenue, and I doubt their fans have any interest in visiting Morgantown on a regular basis.

I don't disagree. But that's a different argument.

Hopefully the Big 10 but unlikely. I still wish the old independents had formed a league back in the day.

WVU
VT
Pitt
Penn State
Florida State
The U
Syracuse
Boston College
Notre Dame
Rutgers

Would be a solid league.

Sure in 2004

cultural fit for the ACC

It would be a great fit, esp if Pitt and VT are a fit
