A 13-0 Big Ten Champion is making the playoffs, end of story. Doesn't matter how crappy their resume is.

Look, I don't doubt at all that Wisconsin will lose. They aren't that good. But if they continue to get it done on the football field, they should be rewarded for that.
It would really test the mantra they have of putting "the best four teams" in the playoff. No one with a clue would think Wisky is one of the best four teams

The issue with that, is if last week Michigan St misses that field goal, and Penn St wins that game and they go on to beat Wisconsin in the championship. Everyone would claim they should be in.
So now all of a sudden, Penn St loses to a pretty good Michigan St team by 3, and they are no longer a good team anymore?

Sorry, but I refuse to believe wisky is a top 4 team after winning against a bunch of bottom feeders....BIG needs to restructure their divisions...so lopsided

No we wouldn't.

What the committee considers:
CFP
That should actually concern ND if 4 P5 Conf Champs finish with 1 loss or less.
CFP

The selection committee ranks the teams based on the members’ evaluation of the teams’ performance on the field, using conference championships won, strength of schedule, head-to-head results, and comparison of results against common opponents to decide among teams that are comparable.

this is simply illogical
since there are 5 P5 conferences, simple math says an undefeated record will not guarantee a spot.
in a scenario of 5 conferences, all undefeated, one is left out.
as such, best resume is rewarded

An Undefeated record for a P5 team will always guarantee a spot, unless of course, all 5 conferences have an undefeated champion. It is really that simple.

just because you end your post with "its really that simple" doesnt make it true or simple.

We will have to just disagree. You want to punish a team just because the conference they play in is trash. That's not right, but suit yourself.

Wisconsin has no control over the fact that Northwestern, Nebraska, Purdue, Maryland, Indiana, Illinois and Minnesota are not good football teams.

And it just sucks for Oklahoma that Ohio State, Iowa State, Oklahoma State, TCU, West Virginia, and whoever they play in the Big 12 championship are?
Oklahoma will play 4 or 5 teams that are better than the 2nd best team Wisconsin will play.

If an undefeated Wiscy is left out when there are 1-loss teams ahead of them, we'll see playoff expansion get here with a swiftness.
Posted on 11/6/17 at 10:13 pm to QJenk
But they aren't good. That's the whole point
Posted on 11/6/17 at 10:14 pm to QJenk
When the committee was formed, they declined to require a Conference Champion.
They've consistently said 4 best teams regardless of conference.
They take into account the Polls, SOS, head to head and W-L...and that's about it. If there are two teams close, they will factor in Conference Champion as it's an extra game and extra win.

Oklahoma has 1 loss. It sucks because they lost to Iowa State. It really does, If you want to go to the playoffs. Don't lose a game, because if you do, there is a chance that your playoff hopes are eliminated. No matter how good of a football team you are.

So you'd put undefeated Wisconsin in over 11-1 Notre Dame?

Unfortunately, cfb is so wild that we won't get to see this playout. Really would be interesting to see. everyone would know Wisconsins resume is week, but would they have the guts to leave out undefeated big ten champ?
Really have a hard time imagining that tbh
