I don't think it's likely that they'll be left out if they finish undefeated and win the Big Ten, just because there's probably still some craziness left in the college football season.

However, how many scenarios do you think exist that keeps them out?

Do all 4 get in over Wisconsin in this scenario?
12-0 Alabama vs. 12-0 Georgia in SEC Championship game
Notre Dame finishes 11-1
Clemson finishes 12-1 and ACC champs

Oklahoma or TCU finishes 12-1 Big 12 champs

Yes, I'm assuming the SEC gets two teams in under these scenarios. If you disagree, that's fine. Just spitballing.

ETA: You can substitute 12-1 Clemson for Miami in the 2nd scenario, if you please.

OU 12-1
Bama 13-0
Miami 13-0
UGA 12-1

I'm not sure how we can give Wisconsin the nod over those teams.

I'm guessing UGA gets left out? Damn

If Georgia and Alabama both enter the SEC Title game undefeated...

They're both getting in...making it the most pointless game.

If ND goes undefeated the rest of the season, they are getting in.

If Oklahoma and Clemson go undefeated the rest of the season...it's a dogfight between them.

Wisky and Washington need chaos regardless if they win out.

in both scenarios, on the surface, it would seem they get left out. But I really believe that when push comes to shove, they would keep Georgia out in both of those cases.

If wisc is 13-0.. they are in 100%. An undefeated big10 champ will be in

A 1-loss OU would not deserve to get in over Wisconsin. That was a really bad loss.

I cant see the committee leaving out an undefeated P5 champ for any 1 loss nonchamp.

yup, according to the logic here, thatd force them to go Independent.

but seriously, the sec title game could do more harm than good for the conference.

To me it'll depend on whether the SEC Title Game is a close contest or blowout, this isn't the BCS computer anymore, it's a human playoff committee and I'm inclined to believe they'll be dissuaded by one of those teams getting blown out despite the single loss

At the time it occurred is likely what you're implying, but now with playoff and other relevant rankings being updated and what Iowa State has accomplished since that time including gaining a top 25 national ranking, it's starting to look hella better and elevate SOS for the Sooners

There is no scenario, Wisconsin would be in.

Losing to Iowa State is bad.

Good, remember that when Iowa beats Iowa State and everybody says it doesn't count as a P5 win because ISU sucks.

wot

Is Clemson automatically out because they lost to Syracuse?
What about Washington because they lost 4-loss Arizona State?
I guess TCU is out too because they also lost to Iowa State.

Damn, we just eliminated a lot of teams.

Michigan finishing 8-4 and Iowa finishing 7-5 would mean Wisconsin has ONE top 25 win going into the Big Ten Championship game.

And it would be Northwestern.
