Let's say the same scenario plays out as last year, except this year the situation is reversed, and OU beats UT but the losses to like a top 15 team a week later?

Do they give UT the benefit this year? I say OU still gets the nod but that would just drive Texas fans absolutely nuts, justifiably so of course IMO

likely, assuming their resumes are similar (or UT's is better)

OU had the better resume last year if you removed names of teams they played from the schedule

I lost nearly all faith in college football last year after OU got the nod over UT. People who just look at the 3 way tie as the deciding factor without even addressing the fact that UT played 4 straight top 10 teams going into their last second loss irk me.

OU was more impressive though throughout the entire season

I don't think so. Scoring a lot of points does not really equal impressive to me. They were basically making up records every game for OU "now the only team with 60+ points in 5 straight games!" Who gives a frick?

Texas played a tougher schedule, beat OU by double figures, and still finished with a better record when all was said and done.

they played basically the same teams and OU won by more. OU lost to a better team also

let's not forget that OU raped the BCS bowl-bound cinci team also. UT raped...arkansas

I don't see how OU goes when they have:

A. A less impressive schedule
B. A loss to the team they are being compared to.

Also, look at the games that led up to UT's loss compared to OU's.

vs #1 OU
vs #10 Mizzou
vs #6 OkSt
at #6 TT

at Washington
vs #24 TCU
at Baylor
vs #5 UT

How many games did the Longhorns play outside the state of Texas?

it's not like any of these games were hard hitting and/or defensive

WOuld they dare put OU back in it again? Even if they win out I would not want them in it.

I don't understand why people are so quick to say OU and tOSU can't be in the title game because a bunch of kids that no longer go to that school lost the title game a few years back. If OU runs the table and is the only team to do so they definitely should be in this year.

doubtful, but if the computers have OU ranked highly, the voters would have to really shite on OU to make it work

So you don't think a team would be more primed for a loss after playing the #1 team, a high powered offense ranked in the top 10, then a tight game against another top 10 team as opposed to Washington (who was horrendous), TCU, and Baylor?

it isn't about the kids

hell, it isn't even fully about the coaches

the worry is that OU and OSU work the system and never really were worthy of going to any of those title games

TCU may be the best opponent listed

hell missouri wasn't even good last year (washington and baylor did suck though)

Agreed if you are referencing teams from years ago, but a lot of OU's players were on the 06 and 07 teams
