What happened to the 20/10 players this year in the NBA?

There isnt a single player in the NBA this year that averages 20 points, 10 rebounds per game
Hell, there aren't even any 19/10 players
There are just 2 players are 18/10 players.
When is the last time the NBA failed to have a single player average 20/10?

If DeMarcus Cousins would stop getting ejected, he could be. He's a 17/10 guy.

David Lee is close. And Al Horford would be if the Hawks ran their offense through him instead of letting that dumbass Josh Smith take 20-ft jumpers.

Anthony Davis has this on lock next year.

Someone teach Dwight how to shoot free throws.

Ever since Brian Scalabrine left the league, we have been at a loss of dominant post players

When Duncan gets over 30 minutes he will be 20 and 10 every time.

Duncan, 30 minutes. Does not compute

He doesn't need to play 30 mins for his team.

He went to Miami and took seat #3.
In 2010 these 3 were top 5 in PER in the NBA: Lebron, Wade, and Bosh
....then they joined the same team because they could hack it as leaders

Most of the previous 20/10 players are in decline or retired. The others are stuck in super-teams and have had to sacrifice their numbers like Dwight Howard and Chris Bosh.

Bynum
Love
Bogut
Yao
and maybe Oden
would all be averaging 20-10 if it wasn't for injuries. Beasley is another guy his problem isn't injuries he's just a head case.

Only one on that list that would average that is Kevin Love
Bynum has never averaged that even in his per 36 minute averages
Bogut has never averaged 16 points a game in his career and has averaged more than 13 points just twice
As big as Yao was, and when healthy, he only averaged more than 10 rebounds just twice in his career
And Greg Oden?

Just looked it up and I dont think it has happened before, (at least since the 54-55 season)
I went back and looked at the stats of guys I knew had long streaks of 20/10 seasons and was able to piece together a string of those season from that 54-55 season to last year
20/10 seasons:
Bob Pettit went from 54-55 to 64-65
Wilt went from 59-60 to 70-71
Kareem went from 69-70 to 80-81
Moses Malone went from 78-79 to 88-89
Barkley went from 85-89 to 95-96
Shaq went from 92-93 to 04-05
Garnett went from 98-99 to 06-07
Dwight went from 07-08 to 08-09
Zach Randolph went from 08-09 to 10-11
Dwight went from 10-11 to 11-12
So there has been AT LEAST 1 players that has done it, but obviously multiple ones a year

the NBA is moving away from the big-based offense
it's a function of 2 things in my mind
1. an ever increasing push towards efficiency, which takes the ball out of the big man's hands as the focal point of the offense. not only are elite guards having TS% higher than bigs now, but they dont' turn it over as much. plus the 3 point shot is much more efficient.
2. rule changes that make perimeter driving more valuable, leading to changes in efficiency

It took much too long for someone to bring up zbo

Dwight hasn't been healthy all season, either.
He's averaging nearly 22/16 in his last six games. His scoring will probably continue to go up now that Kobe's working with a bad ankle.
