re: South Point area of Denham

I live in the back part of south point. You can get to that school behind the neighborhood via buddy Ellis to john L to Brown if you have a truck. From the school you can walk to the back part of the neighborhood just have to cross a little ditch. Same works for people trying to get out. Friend came and got me last night. Power was still out.
re: Why don't many metal bands come through NO?
Posted by Jarrett Jefferson on 4/12/14 at 3:32 pm to JS87
As far as large scale metal festivals, mayhem is really the only big one left. It really only does amphitheaters which nola doesn't have. Like they said Hob and Siberia still have shows, but imo are not advertised well. I slipped upon a dillinger escape plan show may 6th at one eye Jacks. Not advertised well at all.

Stopped in there after leaving lava Saturday bc my buddy and his girl wanted to chill. Manager and bartenders said it was their last night being open. One of the bartenders said something about Panera bread being interested in the spot. The other bartender was a solid OT 7

There was a lot of fedoras and OT 5's out there today. Good times!
UCLA/UNC in tournament play

I'm by no means counting the tigers out of this one in the 3rd inning, but what is it with these two teams and us in NCAA tournament play? If you throw in basketball, we're a whopping 0-6 against them since 2006. (0-2 in basketball, 0-4 in baseball)

I thought so too at first. Looks like bud light is footing the bill for most of it. Its a 50 concert in 50 states thing they're doing that day. The tickets in the back floor were actually $4.99.

For the metal heads here, anyone see this show happening at the hard rock in biloxi on aug 1? Damn good show for $6.99 a ticket (before tm fees)

It may be. But play the album Around the fur after you listen to any other Deftones album and come back and tell me that Around the fur isn't the best. And be honest too. They haven't yet produced anything better than Around the fur.

Well according to their FB page, someone guessed right in the conversation regarding it...So someone just jot down all the bands and then narrow it down...Im to lazy.
Deftones was mentioned twice in that list and it looks like they're the only one other than slipknot, tool and metallica who's been around the last 15 years and won a grammy that I can see.

My favorite was sergio trying to answer a question while McDowell kept passing him drinks to pass down the line.

If that's the thread im thinking of, modest mouse sure was mentioned a few times. I can see that happening. They've played the hob before which is just slightly larger than the varsity.

Just looked up their last tour in 2011 and it was mostly theatres/ballrooms. In Atlanta, they played the Tabernacle. I know the Tabernacle is a bit larger than the Varsity, but I'd say its closer to the Varsity in size than say the rivercenter.
