what explains this drastic drop off in performance? they were still recruiting at a high level and still have Dabo.

I feel like they’ve had quite a bit of turnover with assistants the last few years. When they won the two national titles they had consistency on their staff.

Didn’t hit on anymore elite QBs and stopped producing WRs. That’s about it.

They couldn’t replace Watson and Lawrence

I think that’s a big one too. They had almost no turnover when they were at their apex.

Losing Venables didn't help matters either but their defensive scheme didn't look terrible tonight

They did get gashed a couple of times late though

Clemson had some of the best coordinators in CFB - they're gone and Clemson is done.

I would challenge that Clemson has returned to their Clemsoning ways, their odd stretch was actually winning big games.

DJ U. and Klubnik we’re both slam dunk 5 stars, so idk about money drying up.

Dabo has the same issue as O did. He’s entirely reliant on his Coordinators. Difference was he kept his longer; but once they left you started seeing the cracks and the development has been atrocious.
