Davis still has a lot of power in this deal. He can come out publicly and state he will only sign with the Lakers in 2020.

Then pick 4, Ball, and Hart looks a lot better.

Maybe Silver rigged the lottery to make both teams happy. Lakers get Davis (the NBA wants the Labron in the playoffs) and the Pelicans get a good pick and two good young players with Ball having the potential to be great with Jrue and Williamson.

After saying 29 teams are on his list during the ASB? That would just mean it's easy to change his mind.

Lol Boston, Brooklyn, and even the Knicks can beat that.

Boston offering Tatum alone would beat Ball and the 4th pick.

Last I checked the Lakers cap situation wouldn’t work if they had to wait until 2020 and sign him as a FA hence why they desperately made their play and blatantly tampered last season

Could be wrong on that

A lot of things in all these threads bother me, but I am completely dumbfounded how the Pelicans fans have become completely enamored with Mitchell Robinson. Like he’s the prize here.

A. he's local. Chalmette High by way of Pensacola, FL

B. HAVE YOU SEEN HIS ADVANCED STATS?

C. he just turned 21

D. we already got the first prize we wanted

E. he's on a basically a rookie contract for the next three years and was throwing up double doubles after the all-star break in limited minutes

This is directly from a Knicks fan on another message board. The Knicks can offer, if they go ALL IN on trying to have AD/KD/KI:

quote:

RJ Barrett
2021 NYK Unprotected
2021 Dallas Unprotected
2023 NYK Unprotected
2023 Dallas Unprotected

DSJ
Knox
Ntilikina
Trier
Robinson

Obviously they will try to retain some of that, but that is a fricking haul.

not true at all. notice how I don't go to pels talk and try to convince people I'm right?

all I'm saying is that Lakers assets are being undersold while guys like Tatum and Mitch are getting props they do not deserve.

it's fine if you disagree on that. but not sure why I'm a moron for thinking that way. it's a sound argument

No one respects you because you can't get a coherent thought out, and you are an unabashed homer that has a real inability to think objectively about things.

And you are fairly obviously a Boom alter.

Saying and doing are two different things. I feel the only place he would sign with long term is the Lakers.

It's strange to declare the Knicks slight "losers" for landing at No. 3 and the Lakers "winners" for rising from No. 11 to No. 4, but that assessment is correct. For all their flaws -- and perhaps too much has been made of those flaws considering the players' age -- the Lakers' young players have more combined trade value than Kevin Knox, Frank Ntilikina, Dennis Smith Jr. and Mitchell Robinson

just as I say

The Lakers arent getting AD from the Pelicans.

As I've said before, it doesnt make much sense to trade a franchise player to a team you will compete for a playoff spot with for the next 10 years.

That makes the Knicks, Boston, and even Brooklyn a more attractive trade partner.

What if that is the only team he is willing to sign a long term deal with. If that is the case, then they will be the team that can offer the most in return. You would 100% take that deal then.

Anthony Davis is not interested in remaining in New Orleans, despite the Pelicans landing the No. 1 overall pick on Tuesday. AD wants to be competing for a championship, and the 26-year-old is not interested in mentoring Zion Williamson or going through the process of another rebuild. He's expressed interest in re-signing with the Knicks, Clippers, Bucks and Lakers should he land there, but Boston can probably put together the most attractive package for AD. The one problem there is AD has explicitly said he doesn't want to go to Boston, but a guy like Davis is certainly worth the risk as he'll be on the books through 2020 either way.

Best offer compared to only the Knicks. You're refusing to look at the big picture.

Zach Lowe ain't always right either.

But hey the Pels are crazy for not wanting to trade AD to the Lakers and have to compete against him for playoff seeding for the next 10 years.
