It's his 8th season in the NFL, what more can there be left to evaluate?

Titans will franchise him or sign him longterm. People thinking the Titans will let him walk or no team would want him are foolish. He proved this year he can have success.

The Titans are a Super Bowl caliber team in need of a QB. It’s a perfect position to sign a good veteran that wants to win. Not only that but they have a work horse at RB so the QB will be less relied on. No way they should franchise tag Tannehill, that means he gets top money. He’s absolutely not worth that.

Tannehill is the starter for the titans next year. Probably the next 2-3 easily if he performs the way he did this season

Sign Rivers for one year. Tannehill as backup. Move up and draft tua. Problem solved.

Dude, Phillip Rivers isn’t signing a 1 year deal to move across the country with his 10 kids. He will have multi year offers from other teams.

As for moving up to take Tua, it would take giving you a LOT to move that far up the board. Not to mention he’s injury prone. If you can pull it off, you probably do it, but that’s really putting all your eggs in the Tua basket for a long time considering the future picks you’re giving up.

Are they though?

They made it to the AFC championship with him, and if he had started from day one they might have had home field.

I think you franchise him and give him a full year.

He had 89 yards in a playoff game. He was fortunate to have Henry behind him. Tannehill is better than expected but he’s not winning a super bowl.

Tannehill isn't going to be a back up now, not when he just led the league is passer rating.

I mean, Henry undoubtedly carried the load in the playoffs but Tanehill had a stellar year in the regular season. Led the league in passer rating and had 22 TDs with 6 INTs.

Yea regular season he completed 70.1% of his passes, 2742 passing yards, averaged 228 YPG, 9.6 YPA, 22 touchdowns, 6 interceptions, 117.5 QB rating, 65.4 QBR then added 145 yards and 4 TD's on the ground.

It would be cool if someone in the NFC south would way over pay for him

He’s never been a high stats guy. Even at A&M he had pretty pedestrian stats as far as big numbers in games but definitely had some big plays with his feet and throws that don’t really show up as statistics. That’s why he was a first round draft pick.

People forget he was a second string WR that got called up when JJ started shitting the bed.

That's a reach. This team was dead in the water with Mariota behind center.

Offer him 3/75 with 40mil guarantee.

If he doesn't, tag him and see.

Something like this is what should, and likely will happen. If he works out you have good QB at a fair deal for 3 years. If it doesn't you really only over paid for one season and you move on.

Narrative kind of perpetuates itself. Yeah he isn’t a top tier qb , but that offense they run isn’t doing them any favors. Derrick Henry is great but damn, can’t run him into a brick wall every time. They could easily stretch the field and still get Henry twenty touches a game but they won’t or can’t seem to do that.

Not sure how Tannehill has a chance to be great when they run out two receivers on most of their plays and run into 8 man boxes.

Still better at it than Mariota. Mariota was legitimately scared to throw it downfield or something...

We are on the same page in regards to all of this. It does change my original point though that he is the answer for the titans to get over the hump.

They need a big free agency move.

I'm not saying Phillip would consider a 1 year deal, but he has already moved across the country with his kids. Not to mention, the Titans play a short interstate drive from Rivers' hometown of Athens, Alabama. It's not a stretch to think it might be on the short list of his preferred destinations.
