What do you do with Tannehill if you’re the Titans?

He’s going to be a free agent. They went to an AFC Championship with him, but not because of him. Is he content to remain a backup and take backup money (if you can find another starter)? Maybe not. So do you keep him with the intent for him to be the starter next year, which has risks, or move on and take the risk of trying to find someone else?

They're good QB play away from winning it all. I think they'll keep him for one more year

He's a game manager. You can win with him, but he ain't gonna win a game for you. He reminds me of Alex Smith. The Titans can be a playoff team with him, but I don't see him taking them to the SB.

Tannehill has more talent and a much, much stronger arm than Alex Smith. That said, if he's wanting something like $25M/year, the Titans should shake his hand, wish him well, and move on.

Lotta good QBs in the free agent market this year. Brady, Bridgewater, Rivers. I don't know their financials, but that team could be even better with one of those guys.

At this point I think you know what you’re getting with him, and he probably isn’t going to improve much more.

If the team has needs throughout the roster then you probably stick with him while you keep building.

give him a 3/4 year mutually friendly deal, it's not like anyone is coming for him

I’d take a shot and draft Jake Fromm. Mariota is gonna be traded, so bringing in Fromm to sit behind Tannehill for a year would be good. Tannehill has earned at least one shot next season.

I'd rather take a chance with Eason. He has far more potential than Fromm.

That's the problem with these QB contracts. It's all high end now, there's no market for Tannehill, Dak, Cousins, etc. Everybody gets $30 plus whether they deserve it or not. There needs to be more of a tier.

Nah look at Nick Foles just last year. That’s the tier for “not always been a starter but pretty damn good” QBs.

I see bridgewater and Tannehill being around that.

I don’t necessarily disagree on the franchise tag, but we know what he is at this point... titans need to find the long term answer at Qb thru the draft... tannehill could be the bridge that gets you there.

Sign Rivers for one year. Tannehill as backup. Move up and draft tua. Problem solved.

Rivers isn’t signing a one year deal, Tannehill isn’t taking low end backup money, it isn’t that easy to just move up in the draft to the top 10 when you’re picking in the last 4 picks.
Tannehill as a backup maybe is the only thing that would work. Maybe

To bad he never uses any of it and lives to be captain check down. Then again, so does 70% of the league
