This was maybe the most tragic targeting call of all time.

I'm truly sorry that it happened to the team you love. I hate that it was called and the rule HAS to be changed.

I agree, but the rule hasn’t been changed yet, and our conference came out and upheld that call and then also came out publically to say it was the correct call

So it needs to be called for everyone until the shitty rule is changed

I disagree with this.

I mean I disagree with the conclusion.

Did White "body weight" that guy?

I don't think these 2 calls are similar.

White actually stopped his momentum and let up completely. Minimal contact was made

Exactly.

The call made against him was criminal in my opinion.

This isn't an original thought..

Accidentally touching helmets can be 15 yards if that's what these lawyers fricking want(to protect the power brokers). We can't reverse this phenomenon.

But there needs to be a way to keep these guys in the game if it isn't clear that they're trying to hurt someone.

For frick's sake, the rule is to keep defenders from hurting people. In a few short years we've fixed that.

Now feel the temperature of the room and get the rule back into a realistic place.

It's close, but I don't think that I would call it targeting. I don't think it was helmet to helmet. At the same time I can't see the defenders right arm. If he hit him in the head roughing might have been called. I would want to see at least another angle before I made a ruling.

Exactly and why the powers that be can't grasp this is beyond me.

It was clearly helmet to helmet.

comprehension isn't your strong point is it? The guy asked simply what did I think and left it at that. He didn't ask for to to apply the rule or interpret it.

Ok maybe, but I cannot clearly tell that video isn't the most clear to me. Was it clear helmet to helmet or did his head snap back from the force of the impact with Kyler's chest. If you say it was helmet to helmet I will believe you. Even so I am not going to call it targeting because you can clearly see that was not the intent. The defenders head is up. He doesn't have it lowered and leading with it. I don't give a shite what the rule says. It is being interpreted and applied wrong and most of all not consistently and evenly IMO. It appears that the referees across the board are looking for a reason to throw the defender out of the game. All in a attempt to say hey look at me I am making the game safer. When they should be looking for every reason to keep the player in the game.

You want to punish 92?

Twitter and soft liberal media has failed sports. Fml in 10 years I won't even recognize this sport.

For starters, yes

But come on

We have a top 10 DT pick hitting a future failure and undersized baseball player.

The #necksnap should be praised. And instead y'all are disparaging a good kid.

Again you’re getting lost in arguing what the rule should be instead of what the rule is.

No matter how bullshite a rule is, it should be applied consistently.

If I was a referee, short of a defender using a chainsaw, I wouldn't throw a flag for targeting, ever.
