With the hiring of Cowboys D-Line coach Todd Graham as Georgia's new Defensive Coordinator look for UGA to move to the the 3-4 defense that Graham used with the Cowboys.

Just Curious what other D-1 teams run a 3-4 Defense???

OSU actually runs a lot of it now with kind of an in between LB/DE on one side; normally an undersized DE like Gibson was

Do ya"ll call him a drop linebacker?

I would hope not we had a coach 10 years ago who ran a defense with this position and it didn't go over too well

Alabama, UVA, Cal, Georgia Tech.

Doesn't TCU run a 3-4? Or do they run the 4-2-5?

We also have the STAR position, which is half safety, half LB (in addition to the Leo [half LB, half DE]). Of course, those two aren't always out there.

If I remember right, A&M sometimes runs a 3-4. They line Von Miller up sometimes with his hand down (DE) and other times hand up (LB). They call it the "Jack" position.

I'm not sure it can be considered a true 3-4.

Its a hybrid 3-4/4-3, basically just utilizes Von rushing the QB.

Next year they will be in a 3-4 with the new DC coming in.

What are you talking about? Groh's defnses were always filthy. It was his offense that couldn't get the job done against any semblance of competition.

That being said, I don't imagine there is an NCAA team out there that has produced so much NFL talent, but did so little on the field with said talent.

I wonder why more teams don't run the 3-4. You figure more teams will copy it based on Bama's success.

Finding 3-4 NTs isn't easy, especially in college
