Let’s say no national championships in the last 20 years.

I’m going with the Oregon Ducks

Georgia has been sniffing around one on and off for awhile now, despite the memes they are one of the few programs who hasn't won a title in the longest who has been in the actual mix for one.

All the programs who won them all over the last 20 years will likely be the same group of programs who win them over the next 20 years though, pretty much all the big boys are represented.

Ole Miss with Kiffin. Then it will be promptly stripped away and Ole Miss will be given the death penalty

So since 2000?

Oregon is a good one. They’re doing really well in recruiting and could be on the verge of owning their conference a la Clemson in the ACC.

UGA would be my next guess. They have all the talent in the world to compete with anyone. Just need everything to line up for them in a given season and they can do it.

OU. They have a similar stronghold on their conference that gives them an almost guarantee for playoffs each year. I just don’t think the talent, specifically on D, is at the level required to win two playoff games against elite competition - but it’s getting better.

After that, Michigan, ND, USC, Texas come to mind but I think all of them need to make a lot of improvements relative to where they are at now

If OU can keep their DC I think they have a good chance 2-3 years from now.

We know this has to be an SEC team.

UGA or AnM are my guesses.

Now I’m looking at the screen wondering why I actually typed AnM as being mentioned for a national championship.

I actually disagree with UGA, not because they are not stacked with talent, but because the SEC is so difficult. But, I know the SEC East is a bit soft right now.

ETA, duh, I did not see the 20 year thing. I think Wisconsin will break through one year.

UGA has been the closest; they should have won recently but they fricking Falconed it.

What the frick is up with the State of Georgia and choking? Braves spent a decade not fulfilling promises.

Oregon is also a good bet because USC and UCLA stink and UW seems to be content being almost great just like those Boise State teams and Stanford has turned into a predictable fraud and Utah collapses late in the season.

Problem is Oregon can get to the playoffs but winning them is another matter - like Oh shite, we're playing LSU or Bama now.

Oregon can beat the Wisky's and Michigans of the world...they still can't beat Auburn after two tries despite dominating and leading both games.

OU and Texas aren't eligible. I'd go with Georgia, Wisconsin and Oregon. At some point one of those teams will break through but it could take the whole two decades.
