I was surprised with the number of missed tackles Rummel had on D.

Why has this thread grown 7 pages today? There must be a little North/South, Catholic, Public/Private bitchfest going on in here.

Bob, nice game. Your kids played their asses off. Congrats on a great season!!

As for dirty play...Several of the West Monroe players said that #63 was the dirtiest player they saw all year. He was the only one they really complained about. Some of the comments were eye-gouging and of all things, he grabbed a d-lineman's nuts and twisted and squeezed. (They actually laughed at the d-lineman when talking about this.) They said that they saw on film that he was dirty and when they complained to the official, he replied "I know". I didn't watch him in particualr, but they said that he was the main one.

I was just wondering if he had played like this all year, or if he just got frustrated.

Again, congrats on a super year my man!!

He has been dirty all year as in late hits, etc. Didn't know about the nut twisting though. That will be corrected, I promise you that. My apologies, because i don't want people thinking we teach that shite. Regardless of what some people may say on here, we don't.

Again, great game, great season. Now just make sure you keep steering those big boys down to Baton Rouge for college.

I would just hope a HS coach would be teaching his players to win with class and not call a play that will be disputed (like it is now) and somewhat tarnish a 5A state title that a bunch of kids worked their arse off for.

You don't have any idea what kind of program Don Shows runs. How many times have you been to the field house, practice field, film room, or any other part of WM's every day routine getting ready for Friday night? How many? I would venture to guess ZERO! So shut the frick up about it! You don't have a clue about anything WM! I've been around this program for 20 years and I can tell you how it is run with class and dignity. I don't have the first clue about Rummel and their coach so I would never speculate about the school and neither should anyone else about WM!

sometimes it not about reality, but perception. Thousands of people saw what happened that have never been in the WM field house, but guess what they were thinking about as they walked away from this game, or turned the TV off???

It doesn't take a Rummel fan to see the problem in that. Few WM fans in this thread said they thought it was bush league. The radio announcers didnt like it, who also happen to be football coaches.

What do you really expect people to take away from that after that play?? That is was perfectly executed, and much needed to help them seal their victory???

I mean shite dude. Get your head out of your arse. He doesn't really deserve the benefit of the doubt.

"Why has this thread grown 7 pages today?"

I thought the same thing. and laughed at the last 7 pages.

But I have concluded we have all learned a valuable lesson on CLASS, so question for Lester?

What class have you showed when your school reaches the state championship for the first time in school history and you a fan leave and halftime.

FWIW, I spoke to Rummel head coach, Jay Roth, in my hotel this morning and he was incredibly gracious.

He said that he thought West Monroe was a fantastic program and used the word "classy" many times throughout our conversation.

He said that is was nice to finally get to play West Monroe on that stage to see how his program stacks up. He mentioned that Turner was the "x-factor" and that it was just impossible to cover all of West Monroe's weapons and keep him in check too.

I told him that his players played hard and had a season to be proud of. Rummels d-line was, in my opinion, the best we saw this year.

He thanked me and mentioned that he thought our players and coaches were well prepared and that West Monroe's program is what everyone is shooting for.

sounds like something he'd say. He's a pretty classy guy.

however the sideline reporter on the Rummel side from the radio said he was glaring over to the WM sideline after that play, as well as other coaches. Whatever that means.

He made them take a knee 5 feet from the trophy presentation and watch wm accept the trophy. I'm sure he'll use that this offseason for motivation in workouts/practice

He spent some time talking to my son. He was impressed that my son recognized him.
But, he was classy. He said that he was proud of his kids and that he was out and about this morning with his head held high. He appreciated the compliments I gave him and said he looked forward to the opportunity of playing West Monroe again.

I was pretty impressed. Like I said, he was very gracious and kind.

YOu are making my point. Don Shows calls a pass play with 2 minutes left with a bunch of JV players in the game, who have worked their tails off all year, against the "No. 1 defense in the state", and they score on that play and all of a sudden he is classless. You see WM play once and going off that one play he is classless? He does deserve the benefit of the doubt. You haven't seen the other times he has knelt the ball at the 5 yard line with the Rebel fans chanting "Score! Score! Score!" because the other team was cheap shotting our players. He has knelt the ball so many times but you don't see that. So you get your head out of your butt! You are a typical south LA wuss. Grow some balls and toughen up!!!! Maybe then you can beat a team like WM and Neville!!!!

you are proving my point

not everyone hangs out in WM locker room

all it takes is a play like that for people to perceive that Shows is classless. One play. Again, it doesnt mean that is the reality of the situation. Try reading what I wrote.

shite, its not that hard to understand.

And i dont know Shows from Adam, if he is classless or not.

but that play was classless. It doesnt make the man classless. Anyone can have a lapse in judgement. He doesnt deserve the benefit of the doubt regarding that play. I dont care what he does in other games.

I hope the results in this game cleared up the fact that I'm not a cocky WM fan...I just looked at the facts. On paper, it didn't look good for Rummel.

Congrats to Rummel on a great season. Their D was fantastic, but WM made too many big plays.

Turner was electic. I expected nothing less from him. I wanted to see Talton explode for a big play, but he seemed invisible for most of the game.

Lester how long are you going to keep arguing with these guys? I know you were going strong this morning when I signed on, and still going 10 hours later.
