How do bars count viewers? Is it each screen?

60" TVs cost $90 now. These bars have 30 of them on the wall showing NFL games

I'm not trying to come up with excuses as to why the number is so high, but I wonder how much of it is people attentively watching vs having it on as background noise. For me I watch the Saints, but I'll often turn on one of the other games to have on while I do stuff around the house. I guess at the end of the day it makes no difference.

Every time a Buffalo Wild Wings or Walk-ons opens that’s like 30-50 new TVs. Pretty much every bar now has multiple TVs. Casino sportsbooks have like 50 TVs.

Plus the amount of people buying new phones, iPads and streaming it on those from anywhere. It would make sense that viewership goes up each year.

I get the numbers going up. They have started using story lines during games, and showing the wives/parents/kids of the players after basically every play. Making it more than just about football. As a football guy it's frustrating b/c I just want to see the formation and personnel grouping in the game. The camera gets back as the ball is getting snapped, or a little late.

It's frustrating to the "old school football guys". But, it holds the casuals.

I only watch 18 weeks plus the playoffs

Same here.

But I’m now in 3 dynasty football leagues. Might possibly add a 4th. So I also watch the NFL draft and every preseason week.

But only all of those things.

Or perhaps the NFL holding international games is starting to show results.

But those of you claiming you ain’t watching
I caught a couple quarters of the Saints last year, but I don't watch the NFL

Way before Kaepernick

It was because they made personal foul calls for unnecessary roughness at the discretion of the ref. That was a bridge too far.

Refs could throw a flag because they felt a hit was too hard.

Then the non-call PI in the Rams-Saints NFC Championship Game.

I noped out, with a few check-ins here and there

What surprised me is how little I miss it.

Same with the NBA

Maybe they finally feminized the game enough for Soccer fans and women?
