The Astros have plenty of pieces if they decide to sell
Framber would bring back some MLB prospects
McCullers, if he stays healthy and effective through the deadline
Dubon has shown value as a utility guy since he can play multiple positions
Parades is young and I believe still has arbitration years left
Walker is on a team-friendly deal and has value (Boston, hello)

Ive been checking in on him (Pressly). His strikeout rate has cratered. He got hit around a good bit early and then settled in and had only allowed 1 and no runs over his last 6 innings so he carried a 2.08 ERA into tonight but with his lack of strikeouts, it was only a matter of time until tonight's game happened.
He threw 26 pitches tonight and didn't get a single swing and miss. He's only got 5 strikeouts in 13+ innings this year
I don't remember the last time I saw an inning like that (hell, maybe I never have). I was watching the Giants broadcast and they were openly discussing whether Pressly might have been tipping his pitches or something. You can't even say he got unlucky, the Giants were hitting rockets off of him.
It was absolutely brutal....my buddy hit me with the old "that escalated quickly" Gif, and I countered - actually that was painfully slow - seemed like an hour!
His numbers were good of late as was said, but there was almost no swing and miss. I think you gotta have at least one pitch you can reasonably expect that you can get some swing and miss on if you are a late inning leverage guy, it's very difficult to be successful as a pitch to contact guy in that role.
And if someone who has been around as long as he has is tipping his pitches...that's not acceptable.

Was hoping PCA would have tried to lay one down, especially after that horrible first swing, but it is what it is. Now giants blowing it wide open. Oof.
First thing I told a friend when he came up - bunt? He swung at two waaaay out of the zone trying to play hero ball, game could and shoulda been over that inning with a runner on third and one out. Then Dansby hit an absolute rocket after that but the third baseman just happened to be standing where he hit it.

Exactly. I saw all I needed after that first swing. He was never gonna square up Miller. Gotta switch to plan b and lay it down. Put the pressure on the giants to make a bang bang play.
Unfortunate for Dansby cause he smoked it, but the game coulda/shoulda been over the at bat before.

Yep, if he'd have even squared to bunt on that first pitch he takes - no way you offer at that pitch squring to bunt - and that changes everything about that at bat. Game should have ended that inning.

I’m really surprised Crews is struggling this much.

THE JUDGE just butterfingered another pretty easy catch again.

Judge owns Kutter Crawford. Funny for KutterisKing to laugh at Judge

Breg had a monster day yesterday, Yankees got after the Padres bullpen for a second consecutive night and won a series, Mariners got a late win for the second straight day against the A's bullpen. Soler with a 3-run triple to walk off the Jays. Just a few things that stick out in my head from yesterday.
Lighter slate today. Rubber matches in both the Rangers/Red Sox and Reds/Braves series, and what seems like the first NL West on West series of the season yet with the Dodgers going from Miami to PHX to start a 4 gamer.

A lot of people ragged on that contract but so far I think he is living up to it.

Devers/Red Sox drama popping up again. Sounds like doesn't care for Breslow and told them to go on the market to find a 1B and that he's not willing to move over there.

Clay Holmes performing well as a starter the past month+. Didn't expect that but happy to see that.

I can't believe that the Cardinals are only 2 games behind the Cubs. Wow!

I wonder if Sox try to move Devers in the offseason. This entire situation has been odd and handled poorly
