Quick hijack: Gonna pull the trigger on a new driver. Leaning toward the 913D3 with the Diamana Whiteboard 72 shaft. Anybody have it and what are your thoughts? TIA

You can register here. The last day to do it is April 22. Usually even par will get you through the cut line and into the 3rd/4th rounds.

I'm thinking about doing it with the goal of just trying to make the cut and for the experience.

I'm thinking hard about it, I think if I can get throught the first 5 holes around E both days I've got a decent chance.

Played the Farm yesterday (40 out, 39 in) and greens were AWFUL. I guess there was a fungus that killed the greens (so they said...) and it's not worth the time. It's a shame bc it has a nice layout and could be a great course if they took care of it.

Is it one big sand pit or just a huge patch of dead Bermuda and packed dirt?

We are scheduled to hold a tourney there in about 9 days.

Eta: our commish called and they said only 10, 11, 12 & 15 are affected. Are those guys stretching the truth?

Very over rated imo. You could get the 910 for less and get the same ball speed and spin numbers. Both drivers produced to much spin for me with a high positive AOA

I went from 910d3 to 913d2. And like the 913 better, getting better distance as well. Though the sound on the 910 was better

I fell an inch short from a just amazing chip.

Left it short and right of a par 3. Hole was on the downhill side of the green. I chip it to the top of the hill a few inches to the left of the fringe. It starts swirling around this bowl and starts tracking towards the hole. Im by myself just yelling at it to keep going. It falls an inch short.

Frustrating. But it was a hell of a shot. It's exactly how I pictured it in my head, and I couldn't hit the shot again if I had 100 tries I bet.

They were certainly stretching it...the ones mentioned were particularly bad , but even the "not affected" greens were rough at best. There was sand, bald spots, and elevated old cup lines on just about every hole. The rest of the course was in great shape for the most part though. Like I said, it has the potential to be a really great place to play

Well, seems like we'll be swimming from tee to green.

God's gonna break the seal on our figurative golf face tonight.
