Love him or hate him, Charles Woodson was a worthy winner of the Heisman Trophy. He was dominant and electric and played on one of the two best teams that season. I think Peyton Manning's woeful performance against Auburn in the SEC Championship Game really hurt him in the eyes of the voters, while Charles Woodson arguably had his best game of the season against Ohio State. I think the bigger travesty was Troy Smith winning over Darren McFadden in 2006.

Troy Smith winning was way worse than Woodson.

And the year Weurfell won it (96), and the best player in football finished 4th (Orlando Pace)
ETA: Rashaan Salaam winning it, when it should have been either Steve McNair or Warren Sapp

Edit: I’m an idiot.
In heisman history, yes that’s it.

Tim Brown over Don McPherson in 1987 was some frickery.

I was too young when that was going on but the three decisions that stand out to me are when Toby Gerhart, Vince Young, and Darren McFadden all got screwed.

I can see this. He was penalized for going to Arkansas, but certainly deserved it.
His performance against LSU in 2007 is the single greatest individual game I’ve seen in Tiger Stadium.

Mante Teo becoming the most decorated defensive player in cfb history bc he faked a dead gf and caught like 5 deflected interceptions.

Clearly last year it was Joe B over K Mond.

Moreso Hornung over Jim Brown

Eric Crouch had 7TD passes to 10 interceptions and won the Heisman. It’s funny how all of these traditional powers have absolutely fell off a cliff once Championships were settled on the field.

Peyton shite the bed that year vs Florida and had a less than stellar SEC championship game vs Auburn. Woodson rose to the occasion and had the best game ever vs Ohio State.
