The 1 title is worth it. It’s fun every year to think you have a chance. Losing a World Series hurts and losing in the playoffs hurts. But I’m old enough to remember when finishing .500 and placing third in the NL West behind the Reds and Dodgers was a good year.

I bitch a lot in the DAT but these past 7 years have been an absolute blast. And you can never take even a playoff berth for granted. Gotta enjoy them all, regardless of the result.

That 2019 team was awesome though.

3 aces on the staff. Screw Hinch for pulling Greinke.

The only reason to pull Greinke would be to put in an already warmed up Cole.

2019 is the one that hurt the most. On paper, we were the absolute best team in baseball that year and truly one of the best baseball teams ever. And we couldn't win 1 damn game at home. I wonder how many times Hinch thinks about his decision, though he'd never admit it.

This year, we were good. I felt we'd get to the WS. But Atlanta seemed so hot and we'd seen that before.

We will still be very good next year. Probably win the division again. Another ALCS would sure be nice!

Yeah, 2019 bothered me much more than this one which I'm already over anyway. Throw in the aftermath that followed in 2020, and with everything this team and fanbase has been through, I'm very proud of them for winning another pennant and beating Boston when so many assumed they'd just fall apart.

I highly recommend listening to Strommy's recent podcast interview with ApolloHOU for any Astros fans that haven't yet. It goes into detail about Game 7 against the Nats.

Whenever someone claims the “window is closing”, they always mention players that are lost, but fail to realize there will be other players who step up. Other players who will be acquired. Other players who most didn’t even see coming. Guys like Yordan, Tucker, Framber, Luis Garcia, Urquidy, etc all stepped up when players left.

There will be new guys stepping up, and with big money coming off the books there will be new guys brought in.
