I don’t think the Broncos got past the 50 until the 4th quarter. That was an absolute beating.

Bucs buttraped the Raiders back in 02. That Raiders offense destroyed everyone. Bucs had 5 picks, two or 3 for TDs and only gave up like 20 rushing yds.

Yes. Shutting put Kerry Collins and Tony Eason ain't shite.
You could argue Dallas 92 v bills was most dominating D of Leon lett didn't fumble.

Holding a team to -19 yards in offense like the Bears did in the first half is better than what anyone has done. Forced 6 turnovers.

The Ravens gave up 152 total yards and got 5 turnovers. The Giants didn’t score an offensive TD.

Dallas faced HOF Jim Kelly, Andre Reed, Thurman Thomas and lots of great players and HOF coach.

The bears beat...wild card team pats whose best player was Andre tippet.

The Redskins beat Buffalo offense up even worse. What happened in Pasadena was 2 huge plays on D and then Norv actually being smart. That Dallas team was going to drill anyone that day like that.

What Chicago and Baltimore did was all night. Remember when Kelly got hurt they quit. They knew they weren’t going to comeback like they did vs Houston the year before with Reich.

I’d say what Dallas did to Buffalo in 2nd half in Atlanta was more impressive than what they did in Pasadena

It was very good. But there were obvious kinks in the Chief’s offensive armor with two OL out and Mahomes injured.

No

The best pure defensive showings were Dallas in ‘77, Chicago in ‘85 and Baltimore in 2000. Tampa Bay in ‘02 forced a ton of turnovers but actually gave up a bunch of yards in between.

The best defensive performance ever relative to the caliber of the offense they faced was Seattle in ‘13.

NE holding Sean McVay’s Ram offense to a field goal ranks up there as well.

What about the Pats holding the Rams to 17?

Noting a weird pattern here.

No the Ravens vs Giants

I remember that. Late 3rd, Ravens score on a pick 6. Giants return the ensuing kick off for a td and believe they are finally in the game. Jermaine Lewis houses the next kickoff and shuts the door on them.

Believe the Giants had 5 turnovers and roughly 150ish total yards. Believe they only had 3, maybe 4 first downs that they earned themselves and the rest were on penalties.

You mean spygate. There’s a pattern alright, early on with the Patriots.

'85 Bears

For trying to name the single season best defensive unit, probably. For a Super Bowl, while the Bears did dominate, I'd put this performance by Tampa Bay ahead of the Super Bowl 20 Bears.

New England was a 5 seed in the playoffs led by Tony Eason and Steve Grogan at QB. Offensive playmakers were Craig James at RB, with Stanley Morgan and Irving Fryar at WR. KC was the 1 seed, ranked 1st in the League in Total and Passing Yards, lead by Mahommes with playmakers CHE, Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce.

In a league now dominated by offensive production and rules making pass defense much tougher than 35 years ago, the Bucs defense last night held that high-powered offense to 9 points, and a third down conversion of 23%. 3 for 13.

ETA: Thinking about it...I guess you could say if the Bears would have had their defensive starters in the game the entire time, New England likely doesn't score a TD. Still, though, KC's firepower on offense is worlds above what New England had in 1985.

That one is definitely in consideration for best D performance ever.

Can't forget the Dallas Cowboys holding the Miami Dolphins to only 3 points in Super Bowl 6. That's a Miami team that went undefeated the following season, and won the next two Super Bowls. 3 Points, 10 First Downs allowed.

And that Dolphins team committed 0 penalties.
