Well this is what happens when you give a young person that hasn’t ever seen that kind of money , that kind of money.

That part of I-94 in St. Paul is just West of Downtown. IF he's going Eastbound he's approaching Downtown St. Paul and at 3:00am there will be traffic on the road. Not that busy, but sure as hell not wide open. The good news is that if he wrecks he's about five minutes from a Level 1 Trauma Center.

Additionally going Eastbound he was approaching Spaghetti Junction where I-94 intersects I-35E. He would have lost it going 140 at Spaghetti Junction. 94 curves and he would have lost it, but hey he would have been even closer to Level 1 Trauma Center. Right at the junction is Regions Hospital. They do good work there. Helicopter pad and everything is there.

I've done 145 on the toll road around Austin, but it was wide open for several miles in front of me and I was already driving 85 in my 540i M-Sport on speed rated run flats. Took it to 150 and then shut it down.

85mph never felt so slow before.

140mph in an SUV. That's actually kinda embarrassing. At least get some decent wheels to make the front page of the police blotter

It was a Lambo SUV

Not his first time, SC did give him pretty good money to leave Pitt last year.

85mph over the limit usually means go directly to jail

So many bootlickers in here. If you can do it without crashing you should be able to drive as fast as you want.

Same with drinking - only becomes a crime when you actually cause damage.

Would you think the same way if someone drove into you driving 140 mph?

Not sure I’d be doing much thinking at that point.

Yeah. On the list of laws these high paid athletes break, speeding is very low priority for me.

Maybe Haas can sign him to a Formula One contract. Of course they would have to build a car capable of doing a 140 mph first.

Fastest I have ever gone was 130 on the Bonnet Carre.

Fun, but unsettling.

What you are driving and the confidence level you have in the tires being able to handle the speed without blowing are paramount. It's relatively easy to get that bimmer up to 90mph and it feels like driving 65mph, but after about 120, there's a certain amount of butt puckering. At 145-150, I was as nervous as a long-tailed cat in a rocking chair factory.

"Without crashing"? So all these wrecks we've been hearing about, with extremely high speeds involved, were just freak accidents? I have a good friend who lost his teenage son to an a-hole like you. Wanna tell he & his wife it was just a freak accident? Warning : come armed. And, curious, do you think this was just the first / only time he's done this?

I've done 161 on I-59 alone at about 2am.
