They are obviously QB Hunting in the draft.

Draft trade! The #Vikings have acquired the #Texans’ first-round pick (No. 23 overall) for a package that includes second-rounders this year and next, sources tell me and
@RapSheet
.

Minnesota gets:
No. 23
No. 232

Houston gets:
No. 42
No. 188
2nd-rounder in ‘25

Not sure I like the trade for Houston. Unless they know the guy they want will still be there at 42. Giving away first round picks for 2 seconds doesn’t seem like good business.

sort of agree. especially w/ the known value of 5th year options in round 1.

True. But who are they going to trade with?

Chicago is not giving their division rival the #1 pick

Washington needs a QB. Same for New England. Hard to see either of those teams moving out.

Best case scenario is you get 4 (Arizona) or 5 (Los Angeles) to trade with you. Los Angeles is probably the most likely, but that puts you at 5 to likely take JJ McCarthy.

I think McCarthy is a bit underrated simply because Michigan didn't ask him to do much. But a big move to 5 to get him? You better really like him!

EDT: LA, not San Diego. Sorry, the Charges will always be from San Diego....no matter what people say!

I mean they made a terrible draft-day trade last year, so apparently how they value picks is different than the rest of the NFL currently.

Judging by the points chart, it favors Houston. Vikings honestly will probably be a mid to low tier team next season. So two decent second rounders and a mid round pick vs a low first round pick and 7th rounder seems like a decent trade if you are trying to keep building towards the future.

I think the Vikings might be loading up to trade up and get a QB

I can see NE trading back. They have a lot of needs and can fill them with more draft capital.

Houston had two first rounders last year so this trade gives them additional seconds which will come a little cheaper then having to pay for another first this season.

They can get just as good of value with the second round picks then where they were picking in the first round

i can see NE starting Jacoby all year and stacking picks. they're going to be in the top 5 again next year

or use that 2nd next year to move back into the 1st next year if there's someone they like that falls.

The STRONG expectation around the NFL right now- 4 of the first 6 picks will be QB's.

This won’t matter too much for the Texans. They have made some great moves this off season….
