Look at how much road there is between the tires on each car. It's not a half a car width. A few feet maybe but it's not like TS went really high. They guy was in the middle of the track.

I used to follow NASCAR and I know that the drivers would always be in radio communication with their spotters/crew chief.
I'm curious as to whether radios are used in Sprint Car racing and if so, what if anything was said by Stewart before, during, and after the incident.

45 didn't either then. The gopro camera will be interesting, I'd bet its almost impossible to see him with the black flame protecting suit.

I think the key part of the video is how he stepped out of the way of the previous car then went back down the track.

They were already at the bottom and didn't swerve. When they passed Ward was still up top closer to his car. He made a move down to the middle of the track in time to catch 45 and Tony.
