Well known TE in the league since 2006.

Two seasons he caught 13 TD’s (2009,2013)

Only a 2 time pro bowler

7500 career yards with 63 TD’s. Not bad at all but only twice made a Pro Bowl.

Also odd is that he was always a coveted TE in Fantasy leagues.

Without looking his stats up, I would have thought he made it to at least 4 pro bowls. He played for a long time.

He had stupid combine numbers for a TE. I know that.

Wasn’t part of his problem the lack of offensive play calling in SF during most of his career?

I know his brother quit in the middle of a game. What did Vernon do?

Great Under Armor commercial guy though.

Also gave us one of the most underrated coaching rants of all time.

“Can not play with them.

Can not win with them.

Can not do it. I want winners”

Too bad he was stuck with shitty alex Smith before he turned around his career for too long.

Davis got old quick but managed to stick around as a solid TE1/TE2. I remember him dropping passes as a Bronco but managed to still contribute when it mattered most. Was also a good blocker.

Single handedly stopped the Saints from getting a guaranteed 2nd lombardi

One of the first great athletes at the TE position, so he gets a lot of name recognition

Just like barely mentioned it during a commercial for Gronks super bowl beach party next to Gronk and James Harrison.

“Yep. I’m retiring too” and cut

He was a viable TE1 for many years in fantasy. Maybe not a Jimmy Graham or Gronkowski level but certainly a good one

It’s almost as if Pro Bowls are a terrible way to judge how good a player is/was.
