A good start at making amends would be to ban the whistler and all of his ilk from all future vandy events

In the late hours of Monday night following Vanderbilt’s win over Mississippi State in Game 1 of the College World Series finals, Clinton Yates of ESPN’s The Undefeated wrote on Twitter that parents of the Commodores’ student-athletes told him they had been subjected to racist slurs from fans at TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha, Neb. Vanderbilt athletic director Candice Storey Lee addressed those reports on Tuesday morning in a statement via Twitter.
“I am deeply troubled that some of our student-athlete parents were subjected to racist slurs during last night's game,” Lee wrote. “This is absolutely unacceptable and disgraceful behavior, and such hateful language has no place anywhere in our society.

Thank goodness she came out and said she condemns this. I thought she would be all for it.

3piecespicy,
They are soft for apologizing for racial slurs?

So we are supposed to just take their word that this actually happened? In the process (indirectly) condemning fans at the game for something that may or may not have happened?
How about the "reporter" tell us to whom the "slurs" were directed? What exactly was said?

If he was only a State fan.

Yes. Why does the AD even need to comment on something like that?

Unbelievable. Athletics are meant to teach people to band together and overcome adversity but these weaklings can't handle a few words.

They aren’t apologizing for them. Sounds like they are tattling on State fans.

The people making the slurs were athletes?

The parents raising athletes and the fans who cheer them on can't handle a few words.

Maybe it happened, maybe it didn't. I do know that in 2021, the only things that don't get recorded instantly by five people standing next to each other all recording the very same incident are things which likely did not warrant yanking out a phone to record it or did not happen at all.
But hey...maybe State fans were actually screaming racial slurs at Vandy parents, and no one at all recorded any of it...like it was 1995.
Given the number of these claims which come up completely made up or entirely unverified, call me skeptical at best until further evidence is shown.

When slurs are being thrown at your players’ parents you should say something.
Wtf is your problem with it?

The only reason for the vandy ad to have to apologize and d condemn the situation is if was one of vandy carper bagger fans
So which commodore fan was it?

Nah, not really. State just threw the wrong pitcher partly bc they had to burn their ace on Saturday, while the fighting fauci’s got a free pass to the finals.. Was an even game other than the first inning.

My problem is it has frick all to do with the AD. How much bad fan behavior needs to be commented on if the AD feels that we need to start apologizing for fan behavior? This is nothing more than the latest at virtue signaling and interjecting race in a place it doesn't need to be. If the comments are legit and happened, no one would even know about it had the Ad said nothing. Instead, the racial fires are stoked for the millionth time.
Even for a leftist like you, it has to be getting exhausting.
