Computer rankings are meaningless when it comes to USC (see 2003).
As I recall, the computer rankings dropped USC from 1st to 3rd in 2003. It was the reason they didn't play LSU in the Dome.
Now, because of 2003,the media got bent out of shape, the AP dropped out, and they watered the computer rankings down a bit. Still, they matter.

I failed because of your opinion.
It's all opinion. That's the point. Do you honestly think that none of those teams COULD beat USC on a neutral field?

USC is very good, but beatable. In my opinion their offense is underrated while their defense is overrated. With basically no offensive threats besides Pryor, OSU drove the field twice but stopped themselves with penalties.

EVERYBODY is over-rated at this point.
USC has handled their business with a certain level of urgency and efficiency and there are only a handful of teams that can say that.
Why can't everyone be as logical as this guy!?

No. It was the reason they didn't play Oklahoma in the dome. Oklahoma was #1 in the computer rankings, LSU #2 and $C #3.

Its early in the season, we will soon see what the top 10 is all about and who deserves #1

You made my point. I was trying to be sarcastic, but failed.
I'm with you, because of USC's weak computer ranking, they did not make the game. If you remember, the AP dropped out AND the BCS "tweaked" their formula to DOWNGRADE the importance of SOS. Everyone used to want to eliminate the human factor, but people also hate determining who is a good time, by just using data.
Not sure what SC's SOS is, but I am sure that it will not keep them out of the NCG if they are in the hunt.

USC even took their foot off the pedal. They could have beaten the Buckeyes 49-3 if they wanted.
Too bad they didn't show the Pigs the same kind of mercy.

I'm back..... stupid job.
USC is good. They just haven't done anything to make them hands down the best team in the country. There's still lots of room for debate.
Again, the 2 wins aren't really impressive. They aren't unimpressive. They did what they needed, but Uconn coming off a OT win vs Temple made Virginia look just as bad. Ohio State just isn't very good.
Oklahoma, Florida, Georgia, Mizzu, and yes LSU could all give USC a run for their money. They aren't the best college football team I've seen in the history of the world, they're beatable. Put them at number one, but the media is giving them a free road to the title game off of two nice, but not spectacular wins.

On a neutral field, tomorrow, I would take Florida over USC
Wow! did you even think before you said that. Just in case you missed the Miami game (in gainesville!), Florida struggled to find a running game, Tebow aand Harvin had to shoulder the load, their WRs were getting mauled and Miami almost rushed for a 100 yds even though they had no passing game.
I will say this, right now it doesnt matter where they play but the Trojans will smash them!

USC will lose at least 2 games this year. they always mess up every year

USC is an excellent team.
That being said, I hope they all contract dysentary and die.

They're still unproven. The win over Ohio State was nice. But that's the same Ohio State that struggled with Ohio. The win over Virgina was nice, but that same Virgina team got blown out by UConn about as bad (52-7 vs 45-10)
That's it. Two games. They're good, but let's wait until they get a real test (@ home vs Oregon) before we put them in the Championship game.
There computer numbers will hurte them, and if anyone gets through the SEC they will take over the number 1 spot by the end of the year.

Great message! I totally agree. All you guys saying then who deserves to be #1 are missing the point.
USC has done NOTHING that Florida and LSU haven't done the last two years spanking the Luckeyes again on the big stage. I'm calling it Trojanmania!
USC's total 2008 schedule win loss record now is 17-17 with juggernaughts such as 0-3 Wash. & Wash. St. as well as 1-2 Stanford and Ore. St. VA. lost to UConn & Cal lost to Maryland who lost to MTSU.
LSU's total schedule win loss record currently is 20-11. Does USC have a cream puff schedule or what? YEP.
Do they face the current Hesiman trophy winner. Nope! They'll be in the big dance, but not because they deserve it, it's because their soft schedule sets them up nicely.
Let LSU trade schedules and see which team would emerge as the BCS Title game participant. If we had their schedule, I'd be booking my hotel and flight arrangements. Period!

I've a problem with using "Great" after 2 games. Any team that has 2 losses in the last 11 games of which one is to freaking Stanford cannot be anointed great.

The quality of USC's opponents has nothing to do with the quality of USC. Even if it did, their win over Ohio State very well could end up being the best non-conference win that any team in college football has all season.
