I don't think you understand how great these golfers are. To get scores that low under par is incredible. Koepka had an AMAZING weekend, a record breaking weekend actually. It's not like this is the norm though. The US Open is still one of the toughest and most competitive tournaments in golf.

Dumb Dumb Dumb

We can go through the years and courses where 3 to 4 under par would be the best Koepka could wish for and it's not like the USGA is all of a sudden presented with this new equipment advantage of modern players.

They should have a tournament where these "pros" go with 1940-1970 equipment so you bums can understand and appreciate the greats of the past. Go hit with a 3 inch 3 wood and see how far these pros today hit it. No it's not how "great" the players are vs the equipment.

Omg it's the first time they play there as if that's an excuse. Most of you have never been to an Open and seen just how challenging the courses of the past have been. It's a total embarrassment for the USGA and there is no way to spin this turd of a tournament.

The softness of the course was what made it vulnerable, winged foot this course is not but -5 or so is more likely next time it holds a US Open..

Well no shite because past players I'll be ripping the USGA for not doing their jobs. I have no idea why you monkeys want to give them a pass. This tournament sucked!!!

I'm not sure I've heard a single player rip the USGA for Erin Hills. They loved the course.

And the US Open venues are decided like 10 years in advance so this tourney had nothing to do with where the next few are.

You're not alone in thinking that.

Of course the modern players love it. I'm talking about the other 1,000 or so golfers that found this course to be a complete joke for US Open when 31 players shoot UNDER PAR.

I wish the USGA would come out and announce that Erin Hills is scheduled for 2025 just so I could see everyone melt.

Again, you still don't grasp the point. The USGA can make just about any course a challenge to the players especially where there are over 7,000 yards of play. Anyone that's ever been to an Open will laugh at the wideness of the fairways and slowness of greens. The USGA comes in a year before and can manipulate conditions. You have zero idea what you're talking about.

11 players finished the tourney -8 under or lower.

Thats not a US open. Like you said, that's just another tour event.

They need to put asterisks on these scores in the all-time record book.

All 11 players would be in a list of top 15 all time from par scores in the history of the US open. If anyone that seriously follows golf doesn't find that laughable and kind of an outrage.... I just dont know.

They should add Chambers Bay again soon also. But remember this board thinks the Players should be a major over the PGA.

I wish the Masters would be shared between Augusta and TPC just to see the melt. You are a complete novice to how this all works. Today's USGA is an embarrassment to those who played before today. Ridiculous lack of grasp and understanding of the purpose and goals of US Open.

Yeah, it's impressive the way the way they were able to manipulate the weather to rain nights before play in order to make the greens slower and fairways more manageable. Plus they were able to keep the wind down. Overall, just poor decision making by the USGA

I played Erin Hills exactly two years ago. They were doing a "mock" US Open. The pro played a few holes with us and talked about what the USGA planned to do. Part of that was tightening the fairways. In the end they didn't do it for some reason...maybe fear of backlash. I don't know.

I've played 7 US Open courses now. This course can stand up with any of them if the USGA Sets it up right. They didn't this week and that's on them. I'm pissed that Erin Hills is getting a bad rap because it's a beast of a course.

course was fine, tournament was fine ... OP can't seem to grasp the effect of constant rain on the course, same as congressional when rory won ... erin hills is here to stay ... quick glance at the past 10 us opens shows op doesn't know how to check simple stats ...

The course was a poor choice. Obviously this is the only time there was ever rain at a US Open and little wind in the entire history of the event.

Come on.

This was one of the few times in recent years that I got to just sit and watch the U.S. Open. What a disappointment. Just the other day I was explaining to my son what makes this tournament different and special. Unfortunately, this one was nothing of the sort.

Hyperbole much? Jesus man, what are you rambling about? This "joke" of a course kept like 5 or 6 of the top 10 golfers in the world from making the cut (all of which are bombers). The scores were low bc they mowed some fescue down and it rained so the greens held...that said, it still punished bad shots and rewarded good ones. I'm okay with it and I think they could easily tweak the course to lower scores in the future.
