Listening to Zach now very interesting.

Weird how we hang people before hearing both sides

Zach Smith on the radio right now saying he never committed domestic abuse against his wife.

Says things were volatile and he restrained her some times; but never “abused” her.

If that's true, pretty dumb IMO. That's going to get EVERYONE that knew them riled up. Any coaches wife, any staff member, any pissed off ex player, etc. up and talking.

He basically is stoking the fire. He needs to just shut up and disappear.

I'd be more likely to believe the whole "I was just restraining her from going crazy thing" (which I seriously accept as a real thing for plenty of situations) if there weren't texts of him talking about killing her

Haha ok

I’m sure every marriage has 8 or 9 police incidents over a few years.

Trust me, the only thing that kept this guy out of jail was his wife. If she wanted him to burn she could have long ago.

I'd want to assume the school that put him on paid administrative leave would have been aware of him reporting it before putting him on paid administrative leave.

That's what's crazy to me.

You followed the policy by the book in 2015, yet Urban had no clue it happened at media days and was placed on leave while a 6-person committee investigates it?

That makes no sense. You're letting the story fester for a few days and the weekend when you didn't do anything wrong?

This is him and the university floating the "I lied but didn't do anything else wrong" theory to see if it'll keep the outrage down enough for him to stick around. They're gauging what'll satisfy the public.

He was pretty clear that he reported it.

I don't give a frick what he said to some shitbag reporter, and neither should anyone else.

So he didn’t fire a serial wife beater but he did tell someone about it at the university. Got it. Let’s build a women’s shelter in his honor. Nothing short of a hero.

That's going to be the bigger story if they don't fire him. So Urban reported a university employee as being a domestic abuser, and they didn't fire him?

The media is going to pounce no matter what.

Yea. I had no clue those existed, but you probably do lose benefit of the doubt to believe your story if you've texted that you'd kill your wife in anger before.

He doesn’t insinuate he reported it, he explicitly states he did

So that's one thing that caught my attention. He says he followed reporting requirements by:

"Elevating the issues to the proper channels."

He's intentionally vague about what he did in that way. Instead of saying "I told Gene (or HR)" he uses "elevated."

Maybe I'm being hypertechnical, but it reads like a lawyer word so he can claim he reported by elevating the issue even if he never directly told anyone. Then he'll just apologize for media day.

Otherwise, OSU HR should have his report. If he really reported, it should be in black and white because I'd bet anything they have to keep records of that reporting.

So if we’re to believe Urban Meyer’s statement, at best, he knew about the domestic violence in 2015, reported it to his superior and then proceeded to keep on his staff the alleged perpetrator.

Not so far fetched when you have the person you idolize in Earl Bruce in your ear asking/begging you to not fire his grandson and calling the wife crazy and saying "he will change"

Even giving him the benefit of the doubt that women doing crazy shite can make you into a person you don't want to be, and say shite you would never otherwise say, the body of evidence just doesn't do much to support him, IMO.

Yeh I realize he got fired

That doesn’t mean he beat his wife

As I am typing this, he is on the radio saying he never committed abuse

He is saying she is the one that would go in rage fits

So this is a he said she said situation, but we are all going to beleive her because that’s what the internet seems to do

Just so you we're clear, you're advocating firing someone based on texts from the wives' gossip circle, correct?
