Yes, from my perspective this is totally fine except two things:

1) USC's 2024 schedule, which was going to be amazing, is obviously going to change.
2)Back to more 10:30 ET kickoffs, which is exactly what USC was trying to avoid.

They aren't getting a full share.

And the 10:30pm time slot will have more potential teams.

Bet they will be getting full shares at some point. Partial shares won't work full time IMO. That is what led to the first Big 12 breakup.

I’d like to stop and laugh at The Athletic. This morning, one of their writers (who lives in the Midwest and went to school in the Big Ten and just got hired by NBC for their Big Ten broadcasts) wrote Oregon and Washington were less likely to be invited to the Big Ten because momentum had changed overnight.

For someone who supposedly should be sourced pretty well in the Big Ten, she could not have been more wrong.

Sincerely doubt either will receive a full share

Nor should they.

They were beggars at the bargaining table...give them less than the Rutgers deal.

USC and UCLA didn't sign-up to split their LA market money equally with the Northwest again.

Alright, so what other 2 teams will eventually get invites from the Big? I'm pretty sure they'll want to get to 20 teams

They probably just wait until they can move south.

The two schools I feel bad for in all his is Wazzu and Oregon St

Wazzu through no fault of their own in location has a pretty decent fan base that will support them. Just not the amount of people in the area.

Oregon St, which is actually right near Nike and is used a bunch by Nike as test site, is just getting left out in dark, they have decent all around program, they are not great in any one sport but are competitive every 4-5 years (basketball being an outlier but used to be very good).

Cal and Stanford, the academic stuff they try to use as their "saving grace" actually may have backfired.

I think Utah Arizona and Arizona St all end up in Big XII to make it 16 team league and keeps traditional rivalries

I would cut her some slack on that. Seemed to be a lot of smoke and moving parts on both sides. I'm sure she was getting fed information from all different places with the Pac 12 trying to salvage what they had and the other schools still weighting their options. This was a roller coaster this morning.

Lots of people were reporting the same and that the Pac12 was about to walk into a meeting and sign their GOR.... 3 hours later Oregon and Washington were in the BIG

No, I’m not cutting her any slack. If you have good sources, this doesn’t happen. If it does, get better sources.

She writes for a national publication but she has made a living in Big Ten country. She should know the ins and outs there better than most.

Why do you feel bad for them? They can achieve the same goals in the MW. May actually have a better chance at making the playoffs.

Still waiting to hear what oregon and Washington brings to the table….the former had a brief few years of success under chip kelly then regressed back to being just a gimmicky offense program. uw is dead as a football program….no more relevant than the Minnesota gophers

Women shouldnt be reporting on sports. The blood that leaves their brain when they menstrate makes reporting on such serious matters difficult for them

That has nothing to do with it. She just needs to do a better job. There are bad male reporters/columnists, too.

Big-12 should demand ASU get rid of their idiot leader before they are allowed to join. He will do to the Big-12 what he did to the Pac-12.

Oregon and Washington bring in a natural rivalry. They bring in a travel break for the LA schools, somewhat. As you can now send schools to play basketball like PAC 12 did, Oregon.UW on same weekend SC UCLA as well. Except the PAc 12 did it same state schools.

Oregon and UW also bring you solid athletic programs and foundations with money to spend.

Not much faster to get to Seattle and Eugene than the western half of the BIG. Much fewer travel options to Eugene than most major BIG cities.

Could make the travel argument if it was Stanford and Cal or ASU/UofA

They should kick Rutgers and Maryland to the curb and go back to 16.
