I hear you I'd want to get paid too from the outside looking in its easy for me to say take less money to help the team but I'm not in the situation

If he got 20 million a year for 5 years...

That would still make his salary $105 million for 10 years...including his rookie contract.

That's not outrageous. That's basically 10 million per year for his entire services for the Niners.

Do the Niners let him walk and draft Garoppolo (sp?) in the 2nd round?

I think their eyes are peeled for a qb they like in the draft. If nothing else, just for leverage.

He if gets that 20 mil a year we won't have to worry about the Niners for a while

Trade him to Houston/Rams, draft JFF.
It will be like things never changed.

And if the Flacco results make a trend like that, i think thats where you see the QB bubble burst

Seattle is in the same boat. I don't think Wilson comes out asking for 20 million like Kaep, but Wilson will pull probably 11-13 million per.
Not a chance in hell Wilson is going to take a 10 million dollar discount

Why? For pushing for a big payday?

Only dummies would say something like that.

I'd release Kaepernick, re-sign all of that amazing talent they have, and draft a "game manager" type QB who won't throw the ball into double coverage with less than a minute to go in the NFC Championship Game.

To bad there really isn't anyone in free agency like that. Man, if only they had a guy like Alex Smith.

What he feels he truly deserves is a) unknown to all but himself, b) irrelevant, and c) not worth our commenting on.

Have you guys seen Flaccos contract? He is a bottom 10 QB out of the 32. Kap is 1000x more talented.

He will get this or close.

I regret using the word talented. I wanted to say "better," but Kap still has a ways to go. I think Kap is better now anyways, but he will continue to get better. Flacco is arse and will continue to be arse.

Yea, which is sad...

Either way, in today's NFL, you have to overpay a quarterback to keep him. If not, he will jump ship and go to a team that will. The quarterbacks and their agents hold the upper hand.

If I'm SF I'd let his arse walk. He'd be worse than Aaron Brooks if he'd get that money.
