Unwritten Rules In Sports

Today I had Dan Patrick on for a little while and they were talking about whether or not, as a batter, if the situation allows a batter to do so, if a pitcher is throwing a no-no, it's sort of an unwritten rule for the batter to not get a hit.
I sure as hell wouldn't do it. Let's say my team goes in bottom 9 down 15-0. You still got to try to win the game. Anything can happen. If anything, I would at least want to mess up the no hitter.
Anyway, what are some other unwritten rules and would you not follow them?

Yeah you aren’t legging out a bunt though

What? You don’t think he has the wheels to do it?

The only thing that’s viewed as sort of bush league is when a batter who never tries to bunt for a hit tries to bunt for a hit. If bunting is in your repertoire it’s totally cool.

You obviously never played any real sports. If an opposing pitcher is throwing a no no you do everything in your powers to break it up as an opposing batter.
Only unwritten rule I have in sports is you don’t take out the legs of a basketball player making a lay up.

Isn’t the basketball thing a written rule?

Show me where it’s a written rule in basketball.

My unwritten rule is some one grabbing my junk. Supposedly that happens a bunch in NFL piles.

This happens at my office every Tuesday after the budget meeting.

I think what he's saying is that you would be called for a foul for that. Typically, "unwritten rules" involve actions that are not technically violations.

My favorite unwritten rule is the one where OweO can't post on boards outside of the OT.

A few other unwritten rules that come to mind:
Don't steal a base when up a bunch late.
Don't peek back to the catcher's signals.

Yeah, I didn’t think I was going to have to explain that.

What does my athletic prowess have to do with anything? I’m telling you how the players who actually play in the MLB view it. It doesn’t matter if either of us likes it. That’s how it is for the most part.
Now I will say that there are 750 active players in the MLB at any given time so you will find a diversity of opinion there.
