Only been able to watch various games for just brief periods today. In TCU game the running back got called for 15-yard Unsportsmanlike penalty for doing the first down signal where they point or swipe in the 1st down direction. So just turned on Virginia game and they've done it twice with no Unsportsmanlike called. Anyone know what's going on here?

My understanding is that its specifically for pulling your hand/finger across your face and then doing the first down thing but could be wrong

maybe the TCU player said something he shouldn't have.

The announcer said they are cracking down on the swiping motion in front of the face mask followed by the point.

Another way to manipulate games. It won’t be consistently enforced.

I’m sure it will be called against LSU then.

What if you score a touchdown then cover your nose area while trying to fan the stank off that thang?

(I still have no idea what that gesture is about.)

A lot of things will be called against LSU this year because of “improper Lane change”

I don't know what the significance of wiping across your face is supposed to be, so I don't have any opinion on these calls, but it should be an instant Unsportsmanlike for any player making a 'throw-the-flag' gesture. That's nothing more than the football version of soccer diving, and it deserves the same contempt from .the fans.

What about the hands-in-the-air immediately after blatant pass interference? That one pisses me off.

I assumed it was signaling that they were smelling the pussy smell on their fingers. I always thought it was weird how widespread it got. Reminded me of the LSU baseball team in the early 2000s that would do a sort of chop motion right about their knee to signify big arse dick. Many fans had no idea what they were signaling.

I thought I read it was called The Zombie, but apparently it's called "The Stinky Celly" (aka celebration). One of the LSU wbkb girls did it. It supposedly is used to say a move was nasty...and/or the opponent stinks.

My favorite is when they’re down three scores and they let us know they got a first down.
