Yea the ducks smashed them.

Went 2-2 on my earlier plays.

On Tampa -1 and Tampa over 2.5 goals for the evening games.

Yup Pens are on the same shitty schedule, played Sat and not again until Thurs.

Just far too long between games.

I've missed the shortened season ever since.

Nobody in Florida wants to watch the Panthers play the Senators. NOBODY.

Get them out of the League already, QC, Seattle...so many other places that would kill for a franchise and pack it out nightly.

We may be 0-1-1 and our "best" defenseman is -5 on the season...

But we were on DudePerfect!

Incredibly accurate long pass by Victor Hedman on Stamkos 2nd goal of the night. Hedman has been really good for Tampa to start the season

Buffalo, Montreal, Pittsburgh, Detroit fans et al travel to Columbus to watch their team because it's cheaper to fly here and get tickets than at home. Plus we have a really nice arena and the surrounding area is awesome.

I'm a bit surprised Ottawa didn't bring any fans for free tickets and warm weather

Love the video! Makes me miss the AAC and Dr. Pepper Ballpark. I did my internship with the Roughriders in between semesters at LSU, beautiful minor league ballpark

Open questions for the day:
1) NHL Center Ice package freeview until 10/25: Why is Comcast only showing the games in SD? Do they have literally no idea that the game looks better in HD and they have a better chance of selling it in HD?? Is Comcast the only provider not showing in HD?
2) Rangers - Islanders: Who do the Rangers start between the pipes? Time to give Hank a night off to regroup?
3) San Jose - Washington: How will Trotz decide to play tonight? Going for a 2-1 victory or play the Sharks north/south style?
4) Dallas - Columbus: Game that is most intriguing on the schedule. Will Spezza actually be noticeable when he isn't getting booed by 17k fans? Will Dallas learn how to play defense? If not, how about offense?
5) Anaheim - Philly: Seems like a prison rape. Don't want to watch.
6) Buffalo - Carolina: Would only be interesting if we were playing European soccer - this would be a relegation game.
7) Colorado - Toronto: Winner gets to .500 - yay! Seriously, I hate both teams. On the Toronto side, a large portion of my family is from there. They are like cowboys fans in the 90s. Insufferable. On the Colorado side, too much hype.
8) NJ - Tampa: I hate NJ even with my man Jagr there. Not sure if Tampa is going to win back to back games though. Hopefully Grandma Callahan was able to make the trip from Rochester.
9) Calgary - Nashville: key question: Will this game even be televised in Nashville on the center ice freeview or will it be blacked out Doesn't look like Trevor Gilles is going to get called up for the game. Can the Predators continue to show that they know how to play offense or are Dallas / Ottawa just that awful?
10) Edmonton / LA: Edmonton sucks again. What a surprise. How long will they suck with three #1 picks from 2010,2011,2012 on the ice? We don't *think* they will suck forever.....but possibly? How many years will the NHL Network run with that shitty "oil change" series? We've been changing oil for half a decade it you still suck. Only took Pittsburgh 1 year after getting the #1 overall pick to make the playoffs. Edmonton should be doing better.

As for the Kings, they don't suck.

Well it only took 4 games for Carey Price to get yanked in the middle of a game.

Answers....

1. Never doubt the NHL's ability to choose the most self-destructive option. Verizon has the games in HD, so it's probably a Comcast thing, but... ugh.
2. I'd play him against the Isles and then rest him against the Canes on Thursday. It's a long season.
3. Trotz's system already involves more pinching than Oates, who had a strict "D never go below the faceoff dot" rule. Trotz uses the full ice, but still preaches defense.
4. Dallas' defense is terrible. This is not surpring. They are going to play a lot of 4-3 games.
5. I enjoy watching the Flyers lose.
6. The McDavid sweepstakes heat up!
7. Colorado is due for some regression, but it's not like they suddenly stink or anything.
8. The back-to-back is a killer. I hate the Devils, but I like their chances with a tired Bolts team.
9. It will be blacked out. Nashville's offense? A little from column A, a little from column B.
10. The Oilers continued suckage is absolutely mystifying. They have way too much talent to be this bad. I don't get it.

You are surprised?

CP31 is a mentally soft goalie. I want him shipped to Yellowknife

No I'm not surprised at all.

I've never been a big fan of CP31. But when he's on, he's on.

Sad part is, he's not on very much these days.

Unfortunately he's all we have. Tokarski is not ready to take over that spot. And on top of that, I'm not sure we could move him because of his mammoth contract

Biggest problem so far has been goaltending. The first goal in each game so far has been very soft and changed the course of the game.
