Great match.

Rafa once again just crushes the will of a 20 something with unrelenting defense

Yes, prime Pete v Rafa or Djoker in pre-2002 conditions would be great.

Great match even if the tiebreak was a little anticlimactic.
Nadal is one of the best ever with competitive drive.

I think Nick will win as Rafa will have trouble returning from the back wall. But, playing Nick may be what he needs right now. Short points, won't have to grind, may be able to slice and dice him and get in his head.

This could potentially be Kygrios' first grand slam final?

What a match. Nadal is a machine. His will is unmatched in tennis history. Probably sports history save for a handful of boxers.
I’m very impressed with Fritz, though. I don’t feel like he choked. He was still going for it and crushing winners all the way until the tie breaker, where it looks like he just ran out of gas. Helluva performance by him.

That's true.
And a slam semi against one of the Big Three is essentially going to be like a slam final for Nick. Nerves will certainly come into play at some point.

That 4th set he really needed to put it away, but his serve just couldn't quite get it done.

I think Pistol runs Rafa off the court. Joker can return and has more of an comeback Agassi game which would be great. Rafa is more Denim Shorts Andre

Same, he's been a name for a while and it looks like his game has taken a step forward in 2022

Damn I love Rafa. Watching the post match exchange with Fritz then the way he showing respect with eye contact and clapping as Fritz left the course. What a great champion.

Yeah I just saw that. Had no clue he hadn't made it this far, but it makes sense seeing him fizzle out so often from a mental collapse.

Somewhat sour grapes, but Nadal fans may be wishing he had lost today instead of to Kyrgios on Friday.
I mean, Kyrgios should win, but Fritz should have won today. I don’t follow tennis like I used to, but Kyrgios seems like kind of a front-runner that could get frustrated and shite himself if things start going sideways.
It’s got to be so frustrating playing Rafa and not being able to put him away. He just finds ways to keep staying in points. And it’s not like he’s 20-year-old, 5’8” 150 Michael Chang running all over the baseline chasing everything down.
