And this is responsive to what I said how?
I'll repeat myself because you are slow: find me anybody -- I mean, fricking ANYBODY -- who has ever made the claim that Lebron James is the greatest competitor in the history of sports.
Take as much time as you need.

Name all the female sports stars to be born in a trash ghetto and become the greatest in their sport?
Not only is this non-responsive to what I wrote, it's not even loosely related....and worse yet, it appears to suggest that I wrote something hinting that Serena isn't a great competitor. So, maybe read what I wrote again, because it wasn't what you were responding to.
Moreover, I will say myself that Serena is one of the toughest competitors in women's sports history. I have gone to bat for Serena on this board for years.

And yet, still melodramatic. You know why? It’s a mental crutch for them that allows them to compete and not feel fear.
Okay, Wendy Rhoades. Thanks for compelling psychological insight, said no one.

This is funny from the guy whose claim to fame is getting bageled in the first round of qualies to get in a challenge

Going to be tough for Rafa if his abdomen is giving him trouble
For sure. They mentioned something about him deciding to not getting injections anymore and treating his injuries with a more conservative treatment. But this will probably be his last real chance to win Wimbledon—hell, it might be his last Wimbledon—and he’s 2 wins away from completing 3/4 of the calendar slam, so maybe they revisit that? But what injections are allowed? Cortisone? Lidocaine? Nerve blocker? The latter 2 would be terrible for his body long-term, obviously, but maybe he just says “frick it” and goes all out. If he doesn’t win and doesn’t have a chance at the calendar slam at the Open, go back to the more conservative treatment.
Rest up to try defend his title at the Aussie (which he probably won’t), then rest again and go out to try to win #15 in Paris and call it a career.

I know nick hasn’t beaten djokovic in a grand slam, but his 2-0 record against him makes it a little more intriguing if they face each other in the final.
If he gets through Nadal, I don’t think it matters at all playing in his 1st slam final ever against the best player of all-time, playing in like his 30th slam final, having won 20, in a slam he’s won multiple times. Novak would have a HUGE mental advantage. Those 2 wins won’t mean much once they get out there on center court.

I believe someone said his current girlfriend is now pregnant.

I know, I was making a joke about David Beckham.
But who is she? She’s gotta be somebody. She is fine as frick. I’m assuming at least an IG model or something.

He was getting some crazy nerve treatments on the foot at RG
LINK
but a physician in my family said he probably wasn't describing it correctly, so IDK. Not sure what you can do about a pulled or torn abdomen other than anti-inflammatories. Would be wild if he got a shot in his stomach.

Or maybe the world burns and we get Norrie/Kyrgios in the final.
I would laugh then.

Well, I'm obviously just speculating, but his hand-eye is elite of the elite of the elite, and in way that is perfectly suited to hitting a baseball.
Oh, clearly. And it would be suited to playing middle infield, too. And you don’t have that without being born with it—it’s an innate talent. But it was developed into a devastating skill at Nick’s school along with footwork that would have translated to baseball. But since there weren’t similar baseball schools in America at the time, I’m just not sure he would have developed into a major leaguer with the lack of reps he would have gotten playing Little League like everybody else during that era. Maybe, though. I love tennis, but it’s pretty far behind baseball, football, and basketball. Yet, he’s probably in my top 5 favorite athletes of all time, so I’m not gonna argue against him.

I was def a big Agassi fan, though. I hated Sampras, but have really come to appreciate him in hindsight.
Me too. But I think the main reason I hated Sampras was because he kept Andre from winning 10+ slams. Or he may have pushed him and been the reason for his renewed dedication. Without Pete, Andre may have just had that 1 Wimbledon (probably my favorite tournament of all-time—of all the slams for him to win, Wimbledon was by far the least likely). He hated tennis at one point and was ready to quit. I’d love to know if he thinks Pete more prevented him from winning more slams or credits him with challenging him to win the rest of the ones he did.

quote:I want nick to win but if I were a betting man I would definitely take nadal at that price. Nick just doesn't have the mental game to stay with nadal for 5 sets. If his serve is on and gets up 2-0 yeah maybe. But I cringe watching him worried over the potential/eventual meltdown
Seeing Nick -130, Rafa +105 right now.

I agree that the experience will definitely help Novak and will probably beat Kyrgios in 3, maybe 4 sets. I just think it might be a closer match (and you never know with Kyrgios- he could just be crazy enough mentally that experience might not play THAT big of a factor, but I doubt it). I personally think Djokovic would roll Nadal even if he's 100% and would be a slaughter if that abdomen is still a problem

Wouldn't shock me if Kyrgios wins in a walkover against Nadal on Friday

I do too. He’ll have an extra day of rest too, right? Or will he get a 3rd day before the semis? Do they play both semis on Friday?
Posted on 7/6/22 at 5:14 pm to Hot Carl
Both semis are Friday.
So, now they will let me cash out for $300.
So, the question is, do I cash out and put it on Nick +600 to win the tournament? MGM has Rafa and Nick at +600, Djokovic -350.
So, now they will let me cash out for $300.

You heard me just fine.
You have gone out of your way many MANY times to claim that you were a challenger level player. But, in fact, you never got into a main draw of a challenger and, again, just in case you didn't hear me just fine the first time, got bageled in the first round of qualies in an attempt to do so.
And if my memory serves, you were pretty abysmal in futures events too. You have just a single win in a futures event, yes?
I'm not going to out you...unless you continue you pretending like you were actually worth a shite at tennis.

I love watching the matches from that tournament. I love the way he played. He was basically just like "I know you can't rally on this surface*, so I'm just gonna fricking hit clean winners." It was brilliant tennis.
*and back in the day, you couldn't. the courts were dogshit. Ppl bitch about them "slowing down the grass", but they actually improved the courts quite a bit.

Interestingly, there is a chance his kid will make the bigs....but as a pitcher. Andre wouldn't have been able to pitch for shite, so I guess he can thank Steffi for his arm.

No way…. Rafa will play and not quit. In fact if he is even 80% he will get so far in nicks head that he will freak out… nasal plays so slow it will drive nick craxy.
