He broke, but that was a really fluky game.

Fritz is getting into Nadal's service games a lot more than the other way around.

Fluky breaks like that can mean a set though.

Hate that these are both on at the same time.

This is what happens with these young guys who haven’t learned how to win yet, but are probably physically better than Rafa at this point, that doubt can start to creep in and they get tight. Interesting to see if Fritz can stave off the nerves in this set like he did after starting poorly in the 1st.

Serve looked good in that game.

Garin just totally melted down in that game. Punted 2 backhands and looked super super tight. First set to NK.

Nadal with another really bad unforced error to get Fritz back on serve.

Fritz beating Nadal at Indian Wells was HUGE for moments like this

Rafa’s the one who looks tight, though. He obviously can’t win double faulting like this, but I don’t think he can win without starting to get his 1st serve in at a high rate.

Yeah, something looks off for him. Bunk, can you still get your money back?

I agree. Especially considering grass is a better matchup for him against Nadal.

Hitting high backhands is not a problem for Fritz whatsoever. He is one of the worst possible opponents for Nadal in this tournament.

I think Nadal is going to raise his intensity at the end of this set. If Fritz can match and win this set, it's over. If Nadal goes down 0-2 he's going to quit (as much as Nadal will ever quit).

It's down to like $300.

Nice dropper from Fritz.

Nadal retirement also may be in play which would very much screw Fritz +4.5 games

A ton. And some of them are reallyyyy unforced. Looks like he's struggling just to get the ball over the net at times.

He is just bending the serve in and trying to blast groundies.

Yep. Something is bothering him on serves.

Kinda sucks Fritz didn't capitalize there.

The foot is doing him in most likely. I lied the abdominal area apparently.

My baby Fritz is going to take Kyrgios out next round. Those cheering for him to make the final against Djokovic will be disappointed.

Announcers mentioned Nadal dealing with an Ab injury yesterday, and the way he is serving and showing strain lines up with that. I’ve had that type of injury before, it is painful as hell for full body motion like a serve.
