Kevin Durant's representation, Roc Nation Sports, informed Nike on Wednesday that he has a deal on the table with Under Armour worth between $265 million and $285 million over 10 years, sources told ESPN.com.
The deal includes Under Armour stock and other incentives, such a community center built in his mother's name, whose exact worth will not be known for some time.
Nike, which saw its signature business related to the Oklahoma City Thunder forward grow to roughly $175 million at retail this past season, will now have the right to match, which is a condition of Durant's current contract with the brand. Durant can still choose Nike if they don't match, but can't legally choose Under Armour if they do.
Nike's last offer, sources said, would have given Durant a base and a minimum royalty guarantee that would equal no less than $20 million a year.
If Under Armour wins the services of Durant, it would be the largest sponsorship deal the company ever has committed to. The average of $26.5 million to $28.5 million means that Under Armour would be devoting nearly 10 percent of its current annual marketing budget on him. Although Under Armour has given investors guidance that it might hit $3 billion in revenues this year, only about one percent of that is from basketball shoes

This is huge for keeping him in OKC and/or bringing in a big time free agent. The NBA is now global. If you get on a team with good upper management, you can become a household name no matter how small the market.

are any NBA teams sponsored by UA? feels like a ploy to pull KD to the MD/DC region. and how much does LBJ on his apparel contract?

Nike has doled out shite tons of cash and has not, to my knowledge, "recruited" one of those guys to come play for the Blazers.
This is merely Under Armor trying to plant their flag into the NBA apparel market.
ETA: To answer your question, Adidas has the NBA jersey contract currently.

Just to put it into perspective, that's almost $1/second for the next 10 years of his life! Crazy.

He would be crazy to turn down that money. CRAZY. That's the kind of dough that allows him to stay in OKC and take less money so they keep Westbrook. Or, he can take a hometown discount and go to the Wizards and play with John Wall. Either way, he can worry about what's best for him in terms of winning championships and not have to be concerned about getting a max contract.

This is UA trying to break into the basketball market Nike basically owns with Jordan's and what not.
It's gonna fail most likely because no one wants under armor shoes for basketball.

If they get KD and then make a decent shoe people will at least give it a shot.

This is really stupid. Durant name doesn't sell shoes.

His shoes suck with Nike and he's in LeBrons shadow for them.
Take the money and be Under Armors main guy.
