Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

The GM is on leave and the 24 year old girlfriend of the head coach is FOIAing the school.

It must be a heinous crime of some sort, Belicheck has been carrying him around as deadweight for a decade plus at this point
And no one thinks their shite don’t stank more than Mike Lombardi

He was barely working before they put him on leave

I don’t know how much it would cost UNC, but at some point they need to burn this down and start over.

The Belichick disaster has to be one of the worst hires ever right? Did anyone think this shite would end well?

F this guy for what he and Belichick did to Bernie Kosar back in the eighties...
Diminishing skills my arse.
Story goes Kosar was changing the plays that Belichick was calling.
And getting touchdowns.
Can't have that. Bernie gone. This Lombardi SOB drew up some report that Belichick used to send Kosar out of town.

I mean I highly doubt he was calling offensive plays back then.

I'd guess he caused incredible amounts of friction and verbal/almost physical altercations within the entire athletic dept like he was still in the NFL and the collegiate admin had enough of it and canned him. Probably dog-cussed or threatened some booster-connected staffer or admin for the 90th time and they did something about it.
Lombardi gets fired from every position he's in.

One reporter says the announcement did not come from the Athletic Dept, which means the school/academic side did this, which would lean into my theory he was canned/suspended for his personal conduct.

I didn't really know who we was years ago when he was on some NFL podcast with Tate Frasier. I listened to a few and had to quit because of how obnoxious Lombardi was. It made no sense that this guy was so amazing and he was doing a weekly podcast.

An obnoxious New Jersey Yankee is gonna ruffle some feathers at a place like UNC Chapel Hill. A dude like that is going to clash with the more gentile southern culture there. It's inevitable.
