A source on the @IndyBowl selection committee says #LATech declined the bowl more than once; the beginning of last week and again yesterday.

Damn that's crazy. Someone better get fired. Screwed those players big time. Now they'll be sitting at home watching other College teams play.

I still don't understand why the I-Bowl is so damn impatient. Why couldn't they just wait until today for an answer from tech?

surely these issues have played out to other teams in the past. was this just an unique situation?

They probably wanted to get La Tech locked up.

Lulz. So scared. Now Tech can be known for having no defense and being frightened to play ULM.

The question should be why AD pulled his prior commitment to play any team. Why should I-Bowl wait and possibly be stuck with 6-6 team from a non-AQ school? The fact that members of the Tech Adminstration did not know that the CEO of Advocare is a Tech Alum until a short time ago is just embarrassing. Bruce gambled on the HOD and lost. The NIU surprise hurt Tech, but there were no solid commitments when Tech pulled their stunt (my words) on I-bowl.
Every year is different due to tie-ins, prior match ups, TV contracts and date of game. Again, I'm sick for the players, especially the Seniors.

Do any ULM fans know if any of the six or seven starters lost to injury will make it back for the Indy Bowl? Thanks.

Think one of those guys might make it back, but not likely the others will.

b/c they didn't want to get stuck with a 6-6 non AQ team.

No Sir. Played another sport in college and not at LSU.

i.e. not Ross Setters or Missy (Director of I-Bowl)

I would be happy to buy you one on my next trip to Squire. Yesterday you said you where close to the situation, I feel your pain. I don't understand not taking a sure bid for the Seniors. You have any insight.

That's exactly who I thought you were. I played with Ross at LSU....

I figured as much. Ross is great and cracks me up when I see him. I feel for Missy. She gets blamed for stuff completely out of her control regarding the I-Bowl. She does a good job and takes grief that I would never even consider being OK. But I'm an old and set in my ways.

BTW - I apologize for any bad language I hurdled in your direction when you played FB LSU and i was sitting in the stands. I did grow out of that at least.

None of us understand it. Even we were betrayed by our own admin. The amount of work coaches and players put in since this summer was unbelievable. They were a special bunch. They put this program on the map this year and the administration just took us back off. I'll go my grave saying this was the most talented team in school history despite losses. And now nothing to show for it
