they aren't really that disappointing, I'm going and have yet to purchase my tickets as well as many other monroe people

I doubt all except the boosters/alumni from the Shreveport area will not be buying from the university. Like I said the seats aren't the greatest that the schools have and can be had much cheaper elsewhere. $47 through the university, some friends in Shreveport got some for $25 and the friend who got mine got 8 given to him. I have no idea how many will be there but I'd bet ULM will get close to doubling what the school sells.

A small minority of fans will buy thru the school..... Most people I knwo bought from ULM just to help them sell tickets.

The stadium will have more attendees than the last several Independance Bowls - book that. Every ticket site has tickets for much cheaper than the $50 dispersed to the universities..... And almost every business in Shreveport owns season IBowl Tickets.... Those will be given for free.

The ticket sales for universities are difficult, regardless of the bowl, due to allotment. ULM is not given 30k tickets..... National Champioship Games only have 16k given to each university......

The statemet that the Indepen Bowl should have waited on Tech because of ticket sales, is just basic ignorance. It makes no difference which team was there - both would put a bunch of butts in the seats. Truth is, Tech bit a hand that feeds them.... An has alot of alumni in Shreveport that would have enjoyed goin to a local bowl game to watch their team play...... And not another university from down the road.

well put boss, i bought mine through the school. It is a shame ULM /Tech didn't happen. it's Tech's loss, and unfortunately the Indy bowl's.

I too would've liked to have seen ULM/Tech matchup. If only both schools would agree to a game............

It was never going to be a Tech / ULM matchup. People on this board are freaking dumb.

Tech was scared of losing to ULM. If they thought it was a sure win, they would have jumped. Don't let them lie about waiting for a better bowl.

Yes, I Bowl committee screwed the pooch. Tech was in talks with Liberty and asked I Bowl for a little time. I Bowl committee refused and asked 8-4 Ohio, who lost 4 of their last 5 games. N. Ill won and screwed everything else up. I Bowl committee invited Monroe on freaking Thursday. They could've waited until 2 hours before kickoff to ask Monroe. No other bowl was going to ask them.

Some, but what was the hurry to invite two teams that no one else wanted?
