I know they've been successful, so I rolled with them for the joke.

Maybe Kyla Holas, who was at UH. Getting someone to switch jobs might be tough this close to the season but Holas is available for a quick transition.

Hard to tell wtf is going on. If 29 out of 31 players signed some statement that he was treating them poorly, you'd think it'd be a pretty common theme. However, he's surrounded by former players for his presser today

I'm pretty sure that's incorrect. He's been good there, but I don't think they've won any state titles.

ETA: Never mind, I was thinking that you were referring to the football coach there. He is also a Lotief.

The players' letter said the administration was treating him poorly.

quote:

Players Alyssa Denham and DJ Sanders told KATC they sent the letter because they believe Lotief has been mistreated for standing up for them as female athletes. And now they say they feel betrayed by the university.

"We put so much into it and then for them to just leave us without anything is kind of hurtful and we feel betrayed because we expected them to have our backs," Sanders, a senior, told KATC.

She can come east for her senior season if she needs support.

Actually, you are incorrect. Kaplan High has two State titles in softball. 2006 and 2016. Both teams were led by Coach Shay Herpin. He is still Head Coach of the softball team, as well as Offensive Coordinator for football team.

You are correct about our football coach, Tank Lotief, though. No state titles in football, and he and Michael are indeed brothers.

Need to check out his press conference on katc Facebook live.

All his players and staff are behind him along with his legal team.

Didn't realize his daughter is on the team also

Wonder if Skip Bertman ever insulted the hell out of kids and humiliated them to get more out of em. What’s the difference in baseball and softball? It’s just a bunch of guys that love to play.

I think Tank posts, or used to post, on Ragin Pagin. I remember him warning people on that board about Hud’s uber ego after DC Greg Stewart was fired during Hud’s 2nd season. Would say Hud would treat his assistants as scapegoats to deflect from his lack of real coaching abilities.

Old dude is playing the public like a fiddle. Throw in the "just fighting for my girls...title IX..." and many seem to be lapping it up. If I recall correctly the school just paid for major renovations for their facilities a year ago. But old dude keeps on pushing for more and more and based on previous comments in this thread he doesn't know how to speak nicely to his bosses.

Those that knew the girls who played for him have known he was an arse to them for quite a while. No surprise here that he was fired. I hinted this when the news broke. I'm glad they lowered the boom on him. He's no good for that program.
