The players were on the news yesterday evening talking about transferring and/or sitting out the season... and by players I mean DJ Sanders -- and if Sanders leaves, you might as well turn the softball field into a skateboard park

I can tell you from personal experience that in general, Lotief is an a-hole. This is coming from people who work at LSU who had to deal with him during the regional this year.

As to how he did or didn't treat players and administrators, I can't speak to that. But the guy is no saint.

It was hilarious to hear Jay Walker take such a tough stance against Mike Lotief yesterday on the radio. Dude a-hole must be gaping after years of being used as a puppet.

Was gonna ask how the 1420 boys reacted to this. Was able to listen a little this morning by it was only Astro talk

People inside the organization didn't like him either so it's not just opponents.

[quote]Lotief also admitted to using bad language “between the lines” in response to allegations of abusive language. In an article published online in the Acadiana Advocate, a former player said Lotief used the “P” word on almost a daily basis.

“There was a series of three days after the Texas A&M games where he held hour long verbally abusive attacks on me. Saying things like I am a p**** but it ain’t my fault, I come from a family of p******,” says one letter.

Another former player said Lotief used the word “on a daily basis, multiple times, throwing the word around at girl after girl.” The letter says Lotief expanded on President Donald Trump’s use of the word in the infamous Access Hollywood tape that surfaced during the 2016 presidential campaign.

“Lotief had made a joking remark mocking Trump where he stated to the team, ‘Shoot I wish I could grab a girl by the p****,” the letter states.

Will we ever know the names of the former players that were abused?

His players have hinted it was some seniors on the team last year.

agreed, but it is all hearsay at the moment. I have never seen him act like that when i have seen him in my softball dealings with him but I am not behind closed doors with him and players. so who knows? coaches can be assholes? really? who'd a thunk it? Guess i am considered an a-hole also. I doubt he physically beat or sexually assaulted anybody. cussing? sure. now i would not use the pussy word around young women. I definitely DO NOT use that with my teams. I try to not cuss at all. i know a couple ladies on the team who played with and against my niece in high school. I am going to see what they were privy to and WTF is going on inside. Most all players i've known love coach mike.
