Bader is a boring. Then you factor in his new fake bad boy image and it's unbearable.
I agree, see my above post. But I would have thought lsu480 would be a Bader fan.

I don't know how good Page actually is, but he is definitely entertaining. I could see the UFC trying to poach him when his Bellator contract is up.

How can they stop guys from getting IVs?
It's a USADA protocol. The plastic particulates from the bag s, lines, and syringes etc. create trace levels that can mask blood doping. Especially enriched blood given back to an athlete that was taken weeks or months prior, enriched in whatever ways they do it, then given back to the athlete after weigh in.
From what I've read you spin blood in a centrifuge like at a plasma facility, and concentrate the amount of red blood cells and when put back into the body it boosts stamina and oxygen conversion.
We all thought Lance Armstrong's VO2 max was inhuman because of his giant lung capacity and ridiculous training for decades to be a stud endurance athlete. Turned out it was blood doping that gave him elite level capacity to get oxygen to his muscles.
The best real world answer I have is blood doping is it's like having a "pump" that you get after a good workout for your whole body for an extended amount of time. You just get more performance than you would in a "natural" state. It's hard to detect because it's from the test subject's own body, and the plastics that come back in the test is really how they can tell that they've introduced something from outside into their bodies.
the more you know, right?

They can actually detect the plastics from the IV bags in an athletes blood, the tests are that sensitive which blows my mind but they can. The only way around it would be to get saline from a very trusted source that has never touched plastic and is given in a glass IV with a glass tube but the experts say that isn't really a feasible option....yet. Apparently the concern is IVs are VERY effective for masking PEDs and steroids, basically you can have whatever in you but if you are running the IVs you will be good to go before the fight and in the test right after the fight.

When I first heard that, I was thinking that it was a fighter safety issue. I didn't realize that it was a PED masking issue.

Arizona guy hates Bader. What gives?
Cain was also a bartender at my favorite bar, Loco Patron, but I only saw him and never said a word to him other than hello. I have a million stories about Kingsbury, he is 100% a legit caveman nutcase.

It's 100% a PED masking issue, some guys on Sherdog have really broken down the science and it's crazy. Not using the IVs is actually very dangerous for fighters since the brain takes the longest to rehydrate and fighting with a dehydrated brain is way more likely to kill you or cause serious damage than any weight cut and if you cut a lot of weight 24 hours is not enough time to fully hydrate your brain orally.

I figured it might have been something like that.

MVP is easily my favorite guy to watch outside of the UFC but the thing is Bellator just signed him to a new long term, multi-year, contract a few months ago. If you get the chance try to find some of his old karate videos online, he is way more cocky and entertaining when he doesn't have to worry about getting taken down.

Yep, he's not been testing in the least yet.
I think Hendricks, Lawler, McDonald, Condit, Bendo, Gunnar Nelson would frick his world 10 ways til Sunday.
Matt Brown, Jouban, Neil Magny, Ben Saunders, Kenny Robertson, Erick Silva, Wonderboy Thompson, and Tyron Woodley would all get my $ against Page.
Yeah Page might barely be Top 15 level in the UFC. Bellator is a joke in a lot of ways.

The blood doping is a huge part of it but some real scientist type dudes on Sherdog broke it down and showed the bigger issue is masking other PEDs and steroids, these dudes seemed like they had their doctorates in PED usage.

I love Matt Brown but I think Michael Page vs. Matt Brown would be another Anderson Silva vs. Forest Griffin.
I want to see a Johny Hendricks or Demain Maia vs. Page.

I really have no idea how good he would be in the UFC but I am confident that Hendricks would destroy him. Brown would be perfect!

Stephen Thompson vs. Michael Page would be the fight to make!

I agree I would LOVE to see that fight but not for MVPs first fight. Give him a can or two so he can get used to the big leagues before having him fight Wonderboy, unless he was somehow able to get out of his contract and fight at UFC 200!
Posted on 7/19/15 at 6:14 pm to lsu480
McGregor can buy his contract out and have his own stable of fighters he sublets to UFC.

Why is it taking so long for Juliana Pena to get a fight? Its been over 3 months since her last fight in which she took no damage.
I said by the end of 2016 she would beat Ronda but at this rate who knows I was hoping she would get 2 more fights in this year but that is looking highly unlikely
