Man, that's rough. Ruffy worked a ton on takedown defense, but like DC was saying, have to have hands way down, Arman used that to advantage and caught him with a nightmare elbow.

Amazing fight
Was surprised by the 50-45 though with all the control Pantoja had round 4. Usually they don’t give that, even with Pantoja’s lack of progression

That 50-45 scorecard should be investigated. Insult to Pantoja, that was a war, not a walk in the park for Van.
Different kind of loss for Pantoja--he threw everything he had at Van, and prior to Van that's always been enough to melt guys. But Van showed that if you can keep getting back up, and have cardio to last until the end, Pantoja's striking can be outclassed, and you can actually knock him down eventually. Not like at 36 that Pantoja is going to be able to jump levels in his striking to match Van.
Up there with Petr Yan's victory over Merab for how impressive it was, how great Van had to be to get past Pantoja.
