I don’t see how the results won’t be different from 1st fight. I rather McGregor vs Masvidal.

I think this is the major take away from last night.

Gaethje has evolved
ehhh he was more patient but still WIDE OPEN defensively.

I would still favor more elite strikers like Conor, Porier or even Holloway over him

You can’t just make an interim belt then not unify the belt immediately. You can’t make Connor v Khabib before Gaethje

Or, at least you shouldn’t.

Dana will do what Dana does. Offer gaethje $200k for the title fight, gaethje will counter and then Dana will give it to Connor (who I’m not convinced even wants it) and say gaethje “turned down the fight.”

Winner of Connor v Tony against winnet of Khabib v Gaithje.

That gives you three great fights.

None of the strikers can withstand kabib’s wrestling and sambo

Tony can grapple and submit from so many strange angles, but the big hitters like Gaethje will just get torn apart just like Connor did if they fight Khabib. It's why Khabib ducked him for so long.

Khabib murders strikers. He damn near killed Barbosa. Conor actually looked okay prior to his last round against him. Once on the ground it was over. The advantage Justin will have over Conor is his wrestling background. If he can get back to his feet, he has a chance. If he can’t get back to his feet, it’ll be over in no more than 3.

The thing with Gaethje is he is completely untested as far as grappling goes. I though for sure Tony was going to be the one to test him and he never even tried. Getting Gaethje to the groubd won't be easy but I think once he's there its going to be easy work for Khabib

Gaethje is almost like Yoel Yomero, where he doesn't even attempt to use his grappling/wrestling background.

It's so bizarre. They said the other night that Gaethje has never attmpted a takedown in the ufc....not once, and the guy was a Pac-12 All American in wrestling.

Romero is even more bizarre since the guy is a damn Olympic silver medalist who DC says is the best wrestler in UFC history... Yet refuses to even use the skills. It's crazy.

Gaethje also has pretty good take down defense, apparently, but if tries to just bang with Khabib, he's going to get taken to the side of the cage and get mauled.

He went to northern Colorado. But he was an all American

Yep, I’d assume that Khabib is a huge betting favorite.
