This actually doesn't seem as bad as it appeared. Clearly a loophole, but this guy is legit and has competed at UCLA in track and field.

Gordon also participated as a triple jumper on the UCLA track and field team, and last competed during the 2025 indoor season. He set a personal record with a winning jump of 51 feet, 11 inches at the Spokane Sports Showcase in January 2025. Gordon also won a national championship in the triple jump with a leap of 51-4.5 at the 2023 Nike Outdoor Nationals.

It all started with the "poor athlete" BS, and nobody would stand up to the narrative. This is where we are, all kowtowing to kids who can throw a ball or run fast, because everyone is scared... and judges and juries are too stupid to enforce rules.

Nah...College athletes simply realized '"adults" are just big dumb kids who have childish priorities which the NCAA kept in check as best they could for a,Century.

You knew all hell would break loose considering "Universities" (in the lowest sense) did everything they could to circumvent NCAA rules for gridiron Banners and pats on the back.

So now we have arrested development adults playing in the,Asylum with greedy young athletes... And the shadiest bunch of all (Congress) has to step in...that's how far we've fallen as a Society and what truly matters.

I don’t even think this is a loophole.

this is just a possibility when you have fuel sport athletes.

We got guys who have been picked in the NBA draft playing college basketball… this seems like a non-issue for actual dual sport athletes

In today’s ncaa. Can’t say it won’t work. I’m not sure it wouldn’t work without the work around. With money, comes a different standard and if he can show potential damages.. he can find a judge to agree.

They can’t just make him ineligible for football because he didn’t enter the portal at the right time?

You are correct. That's why the simple solution should be to make him sit out for the Football season while being eligible for track and field.

The NCAA knew that they couldn't make students ineligible for transferring outside of the a window. So the NCAA passed a rule whatever school accepts a transfer outside the window, you lose your head coach for 1/2 the season. The head coach is banned from all activities, team meetings, recruiting, practice, games.....

The school also is fined 20% of their athletic revenue. Now no head coach is going to test that rule.

The Bear Bryant rule- If a two sport athlete is on scholarship and plays football, his scholarship counts against the football limits.

so they're employees then? Let's pay them according to the revenue they generate.

The football window, since he would be on football scholarship, has closed. If the plays the head coach would be suspended.

would the T&F coach be suspended if he transferred during the football transfer window?
